Shazo and Shisui laughed happily.
He patted Izumi on the shoulder. "You're the most suitable candidate for clan head."
The moment Shazo said she was suited to be clan head, Uchiha Izumi's expression fell.
The little girl wailed, "No! Being clan head is exhausting."
"Besides, I'm only thirteen. No matter how you look at it, I'm not suited to be the Uchiha Clan head and the Head of the Konoha Military Police Force."
Shazo said, "Izumi, it's the will of the people for you to become the Uchiha Clan head. You can't shirk this responsibility."
Uchiha Izumi grew anxious. "Whose will of the people?"
Shazo pointed at himself, then at Uchiha Shisui. "I'm the people, and he's the will. The two of us agree, so no one in Konoha can object."
Uchiha Izumi: "..."
Shazo continued, "Of course, your age really does make you unsuitable to be the Head of the Konoha Military Police Force, but you don't need to take that position."
Uchiha Izumi smiled. "That's what I thought. Then Shisui—"
Shazo cut her off. "In a moment, inform the Third Hokage in the name of the Uchiha Clan head that the Uchiha are withdrawing entirely from the Konoha Military Police Force."
"From now on, the Uchiha Clan head will no longer concurrently serve as Head of the Konoha Military Police Force."
Uchiha Izumi caught the implication in Shazo's words. Forgetting for the moment about becoming clan head, she asked curiously, "Brother, are you saying that future Uchiha Clan heads could still possibly serve as Head of the Konoha Military Police Force?"
Shazo nodded. "Of course. As long as you're willing, you'll become the Head of the Konoha Military Police Force within five years."
"But do you really think the Konoha Military Police Force is such a good department?"
