Best Friend B: "I... I think so..."
Best Friend C: "How could that be? He's just an obscure enlisted man! Even most field officers can't use the Six Powers..."
Hina looked at Leiyin, her pretty face filled with unconcealed astonishment. Although she said nothing, turbulent waves churned in her heart. Wasn't he just an ordinary enlisted recruit? How could he know the Six Powers? And it was even an extension of Iron Body, one of the Six Powers?!
It wasn't surprising that everyone had reacted so strongly. There weren't many people in the Navy who knew the Six Powers. Not to mention field officers—even among the senior officers, probably only one in ten could use them.
What was more, Leiyin was only an enlisted man?! And he had used an advanced technique?
This made no sense.
"Could it be that Hina underestimated him before?" Hina thought to herself...
In this brawl, Brannew had been the one to provoke Leiyin first, and Brannew had been injured as a result. Headquarters only gave the two of them a verbal warning.
The Training Camp's Ranking Assessment was drawing closer, and Leiyin intensified his training...
After a period of intense training, Headquarters gave the recruits three days of leave. By then, Leiyin had already come up with a major plan...
After earning bounties for so long, and selling the Rubber-Rubber Fruit for 110 million, Leiyin still had nearly 20 million Beli on him.
Drawing one E-rank ninjutsu only cost 10,000 Beli. Leiyin had spent just over 200,000 Beli to learn all six basic E-rank ninjutsu.
The six basic E-rank ninjutsu were Clone Technique, Substitution Technique, Transformation Technique, Transformation Technique, Escape Technique, and Rope Escape Technique.
One of those E-rank ninjutsu would be a tremendous help to his plan.
Leiyin read the latest newspaper. Recently, two pirates had arrived in the Sabaody Archipelago. One was named Tyler, and he had slaughtered more than a hundred residents. More than a dozen young women around twenty years old had also been kidnapped and gone missing, and the government suspected that he was involved. He had hidden himself well, and the government had repeatedly sent troops to capture him, only to return empty-handed. As a result, a bounty of 52 million Beli had been placed on him. His abilities were unknown.
The other one was named Capone Bege.
Huh?
That name sounded familiar.
Leiyin searched through his memories...
Capone Bege, known as "Gang Bege," was the captain of the Fire Tank Pirates and a Paramecia user who possessed the Castle-Castle Fruit. His current bounty was 78 million Beli. Leiyin remembered that, several years later, he would become one of the Eleven Supernovas of Luffy's generation, with a bounty of 138 million. Later, he would join the crew of one of the Four Emperors, Big Mom, and his bounty would rise to a full 300 million Beli.
He hadn't expected that this guy was in the Sabaody Archipelago now.
No wonder. Capone Bege had always operated alone. Because of the Castle-Castle Fruit's absurd ability, he carried an army of thousands with him wherever he went. That made him extremely difficult for the Navy to capture.
All right. 78 million Beli. In that case, you're the target!
With that in mind, Leiyin boarded a small boat during his three days of leave and headed for the Sabaody Archipelago, which was not far from Navy Headquarters.
The Training Camp's regular training was extremely strict, but once they were on leave, the recruits lived comfortably and leisurely. The Sabaody Archipelago was their first choice for vacation trips and entertainment.
Near Navy Headquarters stood the world's largest red tree, the "Yoruton Red Tree." Since its roots remained exposed above the water, they had formed the Sabaody Archipelago.
The Sabaody Archipelago lay before the Red Line in the middle of the Grand Line. The islands were made up of numerous enormous trees, with their roots serving as the ground. In the original story, Brook had also called the Sabaody Archipelago the "Island of Failure" and the "Island of Re-starting."
The Sabaody Archipelago's greatest feature was that the Yoruton Red Tree's roots secreted a special natural resin through respiration. The resin expanded in the air, forming bubbles that floated into the sky. Since the bubbles could only exist within the Yoruton Red Tree's climate range, once they left the Sabaody Archipelago's climate zone, their resin components could no longer exert their full power and the bubbles would burst. That was how the Sabaody Archipelago got its name.
Bubble Cars, Bubble Ferris Wheels, bubble-coating technology, houses built on bubbles... All of these had become unique features and beautiful sights of the Sabaody Archipelago.
The entire island consisted of seventy-nine numbered trees, and every tree had towns and facilities on it.
Numbers 1 to 29: Mainly Human Trafficking Shops, Human Auctions, No Man's Land, and so on.
Numbers 30 to 39: Mainly the Soap Bubble Park and similar locations.
Numbers 40 to 49: Mainly sightseeing districts, specialty shops, and so on.
Numbers 50 to 59: Mainly shipyards, Coating Craftsmen, and so on.
Numbers 60 to 69: Mainly the Navy Garrison, Government Entrances/Exits, and so on.
Numbers 70 to 79: Mainly Hotel Street and similar locations.
Leiyin was now a proper Navy man, so he naturally entered the Sabaody Archipelago through the Navy's station in Area 60.
Leiyin had originally thought that the Sabaody Archipelago would be enormous, but after setting foot on the island, he discovered that it was even larger than he had imagined.
The moment he stepped onto the island, he saw bubbles drifting through the sky. Under the sunlight, they looked dazzlingly colorful and extraordinarily magnificent...
From the moment he set foot on the island, he had resolved to capture Capone Bege, exchange him for a bounty through the Navy, and use it to draw ninjutsu and increase his strength.
In other words, Leiyin was going back to his old profession and doing what he had always done best.
However, he was now a Navy man. If he captured pirates, he couldn't exchange them for bounties—at most, he could be promoted a rank or two.
A Navy man trying to become a pirate hunter again? Wasn't that ridiculous?
Heh.
But no one should forget that Leiyin was a ninja.
Transformation Technique!
He found an empty area. With a "bang," Leiyin transformed into the appearance of another person.
His former refined and delicate appearance changed completely. This time, he used the E-rank Transformation Technique to turn himself into a burly man, his knotted muscles making him look utterly different from before.
Who said a Navy man couldn't be a pirate hunter? Who could blame me when I have such a bugged system?
Next, he could begin searching for his target.
Logically speaking, pirates were unlikely to gather in residential districts, sightseeing areas, or specialty districts. The most likely place was, of course, Sabaody's No Man's Land. The Navy had little time to spare there, so it had naturally become a gathering place for pirates.
After confirming this idea, Leiyin headed toward Areas 1 through 29...
The large number of pirates gathering there naturally attracted many pirate hunters. But there was also the famous Human Trafficking Shop, something the government tacitly approved of. Therefore, although the pirate hunters there called themselves pirate hunters, they would actually capture anyone who seemed valuable and then sell them to the Human Trafficking Shop...
