Clan Head, Step Down! (Please Follow, Vote Monthly Tickets, and Recommend)
Bai Ye pondered. He had just finished explaining the current problems within the Police Force.
Now, he could also talk about the problems between Konoha and the Uchiha.
"The root cause of the conflict between the Uchiha and Konoha isn't actually the contradictions between us. You've been getting the point of conflict wrong all along."
Bai Ye considered it for a moment before slowly voicing his opinion.
"So you also think we can't rebel, right?"
Uchiha Tetsu's face lit up. This was clearly the thinking of their Conservative Faction.
It seemed Bai Ye truly thought the same way he did. Just as expected of the good kid he had always regarded so highly.
Uchiha Setsuna, standing nearby, was somewhat displeased.
Hadn't this guy's earlier remarks leaned toward the Radical Faction?
Why was he suddenly saying this now?
"No. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear just now. What I mean is, our enemy isn't every ninja in Konoha. It's the Elder Council led by Hiruzen Sarutobi and the forces under them.
"As for Konoha's other ninja clans and those who haven't taken sides, there's absolutely no need for us to make enemies of them. Even if we resist later on, our target should be Hiruzen Sarutobi and his people, not the whole of Konoha!"
In Bai Ye's view, changing the target from all of Konoha to the Hokage faction would naturally reduce the pressure immensely.
Back then, the Uchiha clan had kept talking about rebellion, but that rebellion would not merely mean dealing with Hiruzen Sarutobi and the others. It meant going against all of Konoha.
But if they were only dealing with Hiruzen Sarutobi's faction rather than all of Konoha, there was no need to make so many enemies.
There were certainly people in Konoha who were dissatisfied with Hiruzen Sarutobi. At the very least, the Hyuga clan was currently neither warm nor cold toward the Hokage faction.
Otherwise, during the Konoha Collapse Plan, how could there have been barely any Hyuga ninja in sight?
As Konoha's largest ninja clan at the time, the Hyuga clan had hardly participated in the battle. Wasn't that a clear sign of their dissatisfaction with Hiruzen Sarutobi?
Especially since it had not been long since they had handed Hizashi Hyuga over.
Even if Hiashi Hyuga said nothing, he would remember that matter in his heart forever.
"That's right, Bai Ye is correct. What we want to overthrow is Hiruzen Sarutobi, not fight all of Konoha. We only want to take back what originally belonged to our Uchiha clan!"
Uchiha Setsuna's grim expression instantly blossomed into a smile. Clearly, he was extremely satisfied with Bai Ye's follow-up explanation.
After all, in his view, if they were not aggressive toward outsiders, the Uchiha clan would only be worn away bit by bit.
"Bai Ye, you want to rebel?"
Uchiha Fugaku's heart sank. This was not a good idea.
"This is called self-defense. Clan Head Fugaku, do you really think that if we do nothing, they'll let us go? Isn't that a little too naive? Danzo has been the one targeting the Uchiha all these years, but without the Hokage's tacit approval, Danzo could never have been so arrogant."
"So, in the end, Hiruzen Sarutobi also doesn't want our Uchiha clan to become too powerful. That brings up the policies passed down from the Second Hokage. They're still being used against us even now."
"It's not like we haven't tried to endure it. But what did we get in the end? In the Second Great Ninja War and the Third Great Ninja War, our Uchiha clan gave the most, yet received barely any credit. All the credit went to the Sannin and Minato Namikaze."
"During the Nine-Tails' Rampage, we clearly did nothing, yet we were assigned to the corner of the village, surrounded by other ninja clans and Anbu watching us. Clan Head Fugaku, look at those ninja clans around us. Doesn't it look like they'll immediately besiege us the moment we rebel? Under these circumstances, they keep pushing us toward rebellion. Do you really think this is still a choice you can make?"
In Bai Ye's view, Uchiha Fugaku was simply far too naive.
Things had clearly reached an irreversible point, yet he still naively fantasized about improving the relationship between Konoha and the Uchiha through other means.
In the end, it was not that the Uchiha clan could not integrate into Konoha. It was that the other side never wanted to see them integrate at all.
Then, before Uchiha Fugaku could say anything, Bai Ye continued, "Besides, I have one final matter. Clan Head Fugaku, I don't think you're suited to remain the head of the Uchiha clan. Your personality is far too indecisive, and in the end, you'll only lead the Uchiha clan to destruction!!!"
That was right!!
The final thing Bai Ye wanted to say was that Uchiha Fugaku needed to step down.
Only if Uchiha Fugaku stepped down could he make changes. And at this crucial juncture, if he changed the plot, perhaps he would have another chance to draw a prize.
So no matter what, the first thing Bai Ye had to do was become the head of the Uchiha clan.
"What!!?"
Before Fugaku could even react, the surrounding Uchiha members were all stunned.
Although they had been arguing all this time, they had never considered removing Fugaku. Yet the moment Bai Ye raised it, Uchiha Setsuna was instantly tempted.
He truly believed Fugaku was too weak. When facing Hiruzen Sarutobi and the others, Fugaku simply could not secure any benefits for the Uchiha clan and was even suppressed at every turn.
Faced with all this, Fugaku could not find a solution at all.
But Bai Ye was different. From some of the solutions Bai Ye had just offered, he could see hope.
Rather than wait here for death, they might as well take a gamble.
"Bai Ye, do you know what you're saying?"
Fugaku came to his senses, his expression changing as his gaze toward Bai Ye filled with danger. He clearly had not expected Bai Ye's thinking to be this dangerous.
Not only did Bai Ye want to lead the Uchiha clan in resistance, he even wanted to strip Fugaku of his position as clan head.
"I've thought it through clearly. Clan Head, please step down. Compromise cannot bring peace to the Uchiha clan anymore. Either lead the Uchiha clan out of Konoha, or lead the Uchiha clan in opposing Hiruzen Sarutobi and the others through means other than force, then gain the upper hand. But you lack the courage to do either, so you are no longer suited to be the head of the Uchiha clan!"
The first option, leading the Uchiha clan away, was probably impossible. Even Madara Uchiha had failed to take the Uchiha clan with him back then, so Uchiha Fugaku naturally could not do it now.
As for the second option, Fugaku could actually do it, but he lacked the courage. He possessed the Mangekyo, yet in the end chose to wait for death.
Bai Ye did not even know how to understand him. If you wanted to die, fine, but many Uchiha clan members did not want to die. Why did you have to drag everyone else down with you?
