Background / History
Robin was raised on Ohara, an archaeological center centered on the Tree of Knowledge. Treated as a monster by other children because of her Devil Fruit ability, she studied history to gain recognition from her scholar mother and became Ohara's youngest historian. 56
The World Government destroyed Ohara with a Buster Call after its scholars investigated the Void Century. Robin survived, was separated from her mother, and spent her life fleeing and being betrayed by the groups she joined. The Government falsely accused the child Robin of destroying six Marine battleships and placed a 79 million Belly bounty on her. 56 87
Before joining Rodney, Robin served Crocodile and Baroque Works as a highly useful assistant because she could read Poneglyphs. She understood Crocodile's ruthlessness and doubted he would let her live after obtaining the information he sought. 50 52
After Crocodile's fall, Robin approached Rodney in Alubarna and offered to surrender and serve as his subordinate. He initially refused, regarding her as a dangerous source of trouble, but accepted her after she insisted on mutual loyalty and his protection. 56 57
Personality
Robin is composed, observant, and difficult to read; she initially responds to danger with a flawless, formulaic smile while quietly assessing other people's motives. Her long history of betrayal leaves her wary of depending on anyone, especially when Kuzan threatens to arrest her. 52 85
Her defining motivation is uncovering the Void Century and preserving historical knowledge. She is reverent toward Poneglyphs and ruins, openly scolding Rodney when he tries to damage a Poneglyph and mourning Shandora's destruction. 57 172
Once accepted into Rodney's crew, Robin becomes notably playful and teasing toward him. Her trust grows into reliance, particularly after he defies the World Government to rescue her from Enies Lobby. 57 180 286
