Smoke spread through the air. The Red Light Mother's humanoid body was gone, replaced by a more than ten-meter-tall Tentacle Monster formed from piles of grotesque flesh. Most of its newly grown tentacles had been burned away by Firefly, leaving it looking utterly miserable.
"So you're the enemy? You ugly bad guy!"
"Roar—!"
Firefly's answer was an enraged, ear-splitting howl.
Its instinct to survive drove the Red Light Mother, which had already lost its mind under the successive psychic assaults, to launch a desperate counterattack. Countless dense, bone-like, leg-shaped structures rapidly grew beneath the Tentacle Monster's awkward body.
The monster's legs, enough to make one's sanity plummet, exerted themselves until their bones cracked. Its body leaped high into the air, its savage maw opening wide as though it intended to swallow, chew, digest, and absorb Firefly!
Command: Flash Combustion Propulsion!
The girl clenched her small fist. Flames clung to her knuckles as her wings beat behind her, and she launched a head-on strike from below against the enemy's incoming attack.
"Boom—!!"
Firefly strode through the flames and shattered a head-like structure of the Red Light Mother with one punch. Blue flames, like a bone-deep parasite, spread along the impact.
Without sufficient "nourishment," this battle had never stood a chance.
The Red Light Mother abandoned its burning outer flesh to survive, shedding it like a lizard dropping its tail. In a more agile new body, it leaped out of the distorted flesh and sprinted madly away from the Gentek Building.
After just one exchange, the Red Light Mother understood that it had to devour more flesh to wage a war of attrition against its enemy. Otherwise, it would only be beaten down with ease.
"Trying to run? You won't get away!"
Firefly's fair hand seized one of the more than five-meter-tall monster's Exoskeleton Horns. The muscles in her slender arm tensed slightly, and she pressed the monster directly into the ground, rendering it unable to move.
One punch!
The Red Light Mother struggled and resisted.
Two punches!
The Red Light Mother tried to repeat its old trick.
Three punches!
The Red Light Mother's breath grew faint, exhaling more than it inhaled. After Firefly pummeled it, it slipped into unconsciousness.
This was not a battle between evenly matched opponents. It was an absolute, one-sided thrashing.
Before long, Meng Yi, Alex, General Randall, and the others arrived at the scene.
After the monster-level clash moments ago, the interior structure of the Gentek Building had been reduced to a complete wreck. Only a few load-bearing pillars were still holding on.
