The opening of this railway held tremendous significance for both the Elf race and Great Zhou.
From this moment onward, the Elf Forest and the border of Great Zhou's new district were officially connected!
At the same time, to ensure the safety of the railway between the two places, Great Zhou's original proposal had been for both sides to each take responsibility for deploying troops and establishing defenses on half of the land.
Put plainly, they would fill in the empty belt between them and bring it under the territory of both sides.
But clearly, the Elf race did not have the ability to do that.
With that in mind, whenever other forces had approached the Elf Forest in the past, they had been driven back by arrows from the elven sentries within the forest. That was because the elves did not trust outsiders.
Now, however, the Elf race and Great Zhou had already established an alliance. With Shilke and the others serving as a bridge between them and strengthening their mutual trust and friendship, the elves did not mind having Great Zhou settle a little closer to them.
Not to mention that Great Zhou's railway had already passed through their Elf Forest, while large numbers of elves had gone to work in Great Zhou's cities. Did they really still care about this little matter?
Of course, another extremely important point was that Great Zhou's goods really were irresistible.
Since it was a mutually beneficial arrangement, Lait had no reason to refuse.
And so, under the pretext of ensuring the railway's safety, and with the approval of the Elf King Lait, Great Zhou smoothly and justifiably expanded the territory of its new district all the way to the outskirts of the Elf Forest, becoming the Elf race's true next-door neighbor.
