Background / History

As Tom Riddle, Voldemort learned the location of Rowena Ravenclaw's lost diadem from Helena Ravenclaw and later concealed it at Hogwarts after turning it into a Horcrux. The diadem contained a fragment of his soul and was hidden in the Room of Requirement without extensive defensive enchantments. 138
