The seven great Suppressing Swords had suffered damage from the Sangling and Chihu clans, leaving their foundations unstable. While a group of Celestial Immortal experts led a large number of Sword Dao Mysterious Immortals in helping stabilize the seven Suppressing Swords, they also attempted to repair them.
However, with the Sangling and Chihu clans harassing them, the repairs proceeded extremely slowly. At times, they even fell further into disrepair.
Whether the Sangling clan, the Chihu clan, or the Celestial Court's immortal army emerged victorious was of no importance to the Lotus Avatar. What mattered was that the Lotus Avatar had become completely immersed in the sword intent of the Suppressing Mountain Sword and the profound mysteries of the sword formation.
The significance of the many Mysterious Immortal sword guardians lay in helping the Celestial Immortals maintain the balance of the sword formation. To truly activate the sword formation, they would only do so when the immortal army was fighting the Sangling and Chihu clans and encountered enough trouble to warrant it, using it as their trump card.
The Mysterious Immortals naturally did not possess such ability. Their role was merely to help the Celestial Immortals maintain the formation during normal times and lessen their burden.
Their effectiveness, however, varied. The Lotus Avatar, for instance, had already become one of the mainstays among these Mysterious Immortals. Guarding the sword was nothing more than maintaining the sword formation's balance, gathering as much sword intent as possible when the Suppressing Mountain Sword's sword intent leaked out, then feeding it back when that sword intent faded.
As the sword guardians inhaled and exhaled the sword intent, they could also use the Suppressing Mountain Sword's sword intent to cleanse themselves and further temper their Sword Dao.
