Pitch-Black Cave.
In the darkness where one could not see one's hand before one's face, spatial fluctuations suddenly rippled outward, like a stone dropped into a tranquil lake, sending invisible waves spreading across the surface.
Immediately afterward, two figures appeared out of nowhere.
Kessler staggered back two steps. After steadying himself, he abruptly turned around and saw the man behind him.
At that moment, it felt as though an invisible hand had viciously clenched around his heart.
"Qin—Qin Tian—no, General Qin."
Kessler's voice trembled slightly, and he forced an unnatural smile onto his face, one uglier than crying.
"Prince Kessler, we meet again."
The corner of Qin Tian's mouth curled upward.
"General Qin, thank you for helping me deal with Broden."
Kessler struggled to maintain the smile on his face and tried to make his voice sound calmer. "I'll tell you where the Spacetime Amber is right now. I swear to the Beast God that I will withhold nothing."
"Wait."
Qin Tian did not rush to question him. Instead, he unhurriedly placed a hand on Kessler's shoulder. The grip was not strong, yet Kessler's body involuntarily tensed.
"Since you knew the Orcs had sent three Eighth-Order Imperial Clan members to hunt me, and you were part of that team, why didn't you warn me beforehand?"
Qin Tian's voice remained calm, but Kessler sensed a chilling coldness beneath that calmness.
"General Qin, I—" Kessler opened his mouth to explain, but Qin Tian directly cut him off.
"I guess you were going to say that the situation was urgent, and there were always people around you, so you never found a suitable opportunity to tell me."
A faint smile hung on Qin Tian's lips, while those eyes of his seemed capable of seeing through everything.
"Am I right, Prince Kessler?"
"I—I wasn't—"
