Background / History

Li Qi was raised by the Wen Family as one of many orphan trainees. Survivors who awakened Psionic Powers became ninjas in the Shadow Department, carrying out infiltration, assassination, and intelligence work. His name came from his former ranking: he was seventh in strength among its members 89.

Originally assigned to monitor Qin Tian, Li Qi was subdued and recruited as Qin Tian's apostle. Qin Tian ordered him to remain within the Wen Family's chain of command, report every new instruction, collect evidence of the family's crimes, and provide his ninjutsu techniques 90. Li Qi regarded the apostle transformation and resulting Night Demon Bloodline as a rebirth; his loyalty shifted completely from the Wen Family to Qin Tian 90.

While maintaining his cover, Li Qi continued receiving assignments from the Shadow Lord, whom he still feared despite his new allegiance 93. He later helped expose the Wen Family's crimes and the Sea of Blood formation. His defining trait is his devotion to Qin Tian. He considers himself Qin Tian's earliest subordinate, seeks to become his “sharpest blade,” and views Qin Tian's investment in him as a debt deserving lifelong repayment 90 261. This loyalty also makes him self-critical; after being rescued from the Blood Demon Cult, he blamed himself for repeatedly becoming a burden rather than solving problems for his master 363.
