King Chen secretly clenched his fist before relaxing it just as quietly. His heart hammered wildly against his ribs, and he told himself he had made the right choice this time. Given the methods Bai Yang had displayed, had he previously stood in opposition to him, the consequences would have been simply unthinkable!

Straightening his robes, King Chen cupped his fists toward Bai Yang and said, "Thank you very much, Mr. Bai."

Stepping slightly aside, Bai Yang did not accept the bow. He shook his head and replied, "Your Majesty need not be so formal. Everything started because of me, so this is only right. If anything, I am the one causing Your Majesty trouble. Please accept this small token of my regard—no refusal, or I shall feel ill at ease in my heart."

After all, he had devoured their largest dragon vein. Although he had stepped in to quell the aftermath, Bai Yang had to make some gesture regardless, or the situation would be completely indefensible.

The two sides were not enemies, and Bai Yang could not comfortably bully them and pocket someone else's property. That made no sense.

With a wave of his hand, three items floated up before Bai Yang: a set of black armor, a pristine white porcelain bottle, and a green wooden sword. With a gentle push, the three items flew toward King Chen.

None of these three items were ordinary goods. The black armor was cold and deep, giving off a feeling of indestructible sturdiness. The porcelain bottle presumably contained some sort of pill, for even through the vessel one could feel the surging medicinal power within. The green wooden sword was even more extraordinary, wreathed in divine light; though wooden, it remained sharp enough to seemingly tear apart the soul.
