Another quiet morning... or was it noon?

Bai Yang sat on the bed in a daze for a while before realizing he was no longer at home. Scratching his head, he headed toward the bathroom in nothing but baggy shorts, yawning up a storm.

Yet when he looked at the completely empty bathroom, he realized that after moving yesterday, he seemed to have forgotten to buy toiletries...

"Being a single dog really hurts..."

Sighing inwardly, he simply took a cold shower, having gone two days without one. Only then did he feel much more awake. He casually shook out his dripping hair, changed into a clean T-shirt and jeans, and headed out.

He rode his motorcycle to a noodle shop and made do with a quick meal. Passing a supermarket, he went in and bought a simple canvas bag, stuffed a few packs of instant noodles inside, and headed back.

Back at the villa, he changed into that outdoor outfit, packed the rock sugar he had bought the day before into the bag, removed the instant noodle packaging, put the noodle cakes and seasoning packets whole into an unmarked plastic bag and stuffed it into his backpack. Then he took his electric rod. OK, fully equipped and ready to go.

"Dad, Mom, today's my first day on the job. I'm going out to eat with my coworkers after work. If you can't reach me by phone, I'm probably drinking. Don't worry."

He edited the text, sent it, and that was that!

Better give his parents a heads-up first, lest they call later, he fail to answer, and they worry.

With everything ready, Bai Yang willed it, and instantly vanished from the villa room. In the time it took to blank out and blink, he was already in a new environment.

Even though he had come here many times already, Bai Yang still felt as though it were unreal, standing amid the jungle.

"I really don't know how many hours a day is over here. It's almost noon, twelve o'clock, back on Earth, but here the sun is setting."

Peering through the dense leaves at the sun—he had no idea whether it was in the west or not—he muttered to himself. He took out his phone to check the time, found a small patch of bare ground nearby where no plants grew, just where the setting sun cast a patch of light.

He stuck a small wooden stick into the ground, drew a line where its shadow fell, then took a screenshot on his phone to record the time. Done.

He wanted to figure out exactly how many hours there were in a day here. When the sun set for the second time, he could check the stick's shadow and get an approximate length for a day in this world.

Assuming he still remembered this by then...

He got up, circled around the tree, and was about to head for that "Wildling Village" when, the instant he rounded the trunk, his vision was filled by a gigantic figure.

"What the hell...?!"

Startled, he retreated while immediately thrusting out the electric rod he had kept in his hand and pressing the power switch.

"Ugh... bang..."

Those two sounds reached his ears. Bai Yang awkwardly withdrew the electric rod, wiping from his mind the urge to immediately run back "over there."

Number Three Barbarian got another taste of the current's stimulation. He lay on the ground now, his whole body twitching involuntarily, his hair standing on end, his mouth crooked and nose askew as he groggily tried to get to his feet...

"I'm saying it was a misunderstanding, do you believe me? Who told you to pop up in front of me out of nowhere?" Bai Yang said apologetically as he stood beside him, regardless of whether the other understood.

Though he had been zapped again by the electric rod, Number Three Barbarian, built like a savage bull, quickly recovered. After standing, he instinctively backed several steps away from Bai Yang, seeming a little afraid of him. Then he babbled something incomprehensible while gesturing nonstop with both hands.

Bai Yang watched blankly, pondering for a long while before roughly understanding what he meant. He had spotted Bai Yang by the village, then come over to welcome him in...

Well, that was Bai Yang's own interpretation. As for whether that was really what the other meant, only ghosts knew.

"For someone built like a mountain, you sure walk without making a sound. You deserved that poke from the electric rod. Still, it hasn't been easy for you. Here, have some candy, you poor wildling. Bet you've never seen rock sugar before," Bai Yang said with a shrug. The other couldn't understand a word anyway, so it was no different from talking to himself.

Faced with the handful of rock sugar Bai Yang took from his backpack, Number Three Barbarian Hu Zi's eyes went wide, his face utterly blank. Pointing at the rock sugar in Bai Yang's hand, he babbled away, who knew what he was hollering about.

"Right. You barbarians probably haven't seen this stuff either." Bai Yang smacked his forehead, pinched up a piece and tossed it into his own mouth, then held out his hand to signal for the other to take some.

After all, eating was the most fundamental instinct of every living creature. Seeing Bai Yang put it into practice, the guy understood in seconds. He took the rock sugar from Bai Yang's hand and dumped the whole handful into his mouth, crunching it loudly. As he chewed, his eyes bulged wide and he bounced and jumped about.

Bai Yang: "..."

Rock sugar was sugar, sure, but was that how you ate it? How had he completely forgotten?

Too exhausted inwardly to mock him, Bai Yang shook his head and headed toward the village.

Number Three Barbarian howled incomprehensibly and shot toward the village like a gust of wind. His huge legs carried him bounding and leaping through the forest as though walking on level ground, like some Tarzan ape-man, leaving Bai Yang staring in a daze.

The place where Bai Yang had appeared was not far from the village gate. When he arrived there, a great crowd of "barbarians," young and old, came rushing from who knew where. They surrounded him, pointing, whispering, and gawking.

But Bai Yang keenly noticed that besides curiosity, the way they looked at him held a trace of respect and ingratiation. They said the eyes were the windows to the soul, and these "barbarians" seemed rather simple-minded—their inner thoughts were written directly on their faces.

But Bai Yang didn't understand. Why were they looking at him like that?

"All right, I said last time that I'd bring you gifts when I came back. I'm not going to break my word." Whether they understood or not, Bai Yang spoke as he set down his backpack and pulled out twenty-odd pounds of rock sugar.

The surroundings instantly fell silent. Pair after pair of eyes looked at Bai Yang and that bag of rock sugar, every gaze revealing the same two words.

Utter confusion!

"#¥%...&)(@#%¥...&," Number Three Barbarian babbled loudly, clearly explaining the benefits of rock sugar.

Then every pair of eyes lit up.

It had to be said, these people's character was quite good. There wasn't even a mad scramble for it.

Bai Yang well understood the essence of farming favorability. This was no time to slack off—only by personally handing rock sugar to every single person could he maximize their favorability!

First the children, then the half-grown boys, then the women, and finally the men. One handful each—Bai Yang personally handed it out one by one, making sure everyone present got some.

Twenty-odd pounds of rock sugar was quite a lot, after all. And since these people did not, like the clever folk back on Earth, sneakily hold out their hands a second time, just look at how honest they were! By the end, Bai Yang still had around ten pounds left!

Yet Bai Yang was dumbfounded. The people who received the rock sugar were all like Number Three Barbarian Hu Zi earlier, dumping entire handfuls into their mouths and crunching away...

"Aren't they afraid of getting cavities?"

His mouth twitching, he grumbled inwardly. Sharp-eyed Bai Yang noticed that after eating the rock sugar, the way these people looked at him gained an extra measure of kindness alongside their curiosity and reverence.

Sure enough, favorability could be farmed!

The crowd parted, and the white-bearded old man came out, smiling at Bai Yang. But what was with the gorgeous girl beside him? She stared at him without saying a word, looking as though she were about to cry—like a little wife who had been abandoned...

I didn't do anything heartless like seducing her and then abandoning her! I haven't even touched her!

Bai Yang cried injustice in his heart, his head full of questions with no one to ask.

Now that the leader of these savages had appeared, things would be easier. Bai Yang carried the remaining rock candy over to the white-bearded old man, speaking Chinese as he gestured nonstop with both hands, indicating that the rest of the rock candy was for him, and asking him to distribute it to those who were not present.

After gesturing wildly like some spirit medium, the old man chattered away in reply and nodded with a smile. Bai Yang had no idea whether he understood or not, but in the end, the old man took all the remaining rock candy into his hands.

Throughout the whole process, the gorgeous girl beside the white-bearded old man stared at Bai Yang so intently that he felt uncomfortable all over. He even began to wonder whether he had done something outrageously unforgivable to her...

After all that bustle, the sun had already set, and darkness gradually shrouded the jungle.

The white-bearded old man dispersed the onlookers, then smiled at Bai Yang and made an inviting gesture.

It was the same treehouse hall where they had eaten last time. More than a dozen burly men were still there to keep him company, and the table was still piled with food, though the wine jars from last time were gone...

But Bai Yang had just eaten a bowl of ramen not long ago and truly could not eat another bite. Still, when the same gorgeous girl from before personally held a piece of nicely cut meat to his mouth, could he refuse?

Last time, Bai Yang had been too slow on the uptake. This time, he was too embarrassed to let a girl feed him again. Yet the moment he picked up his chopsticks, the girl began shedding tears in grievance...

What kind of plot is this?

Bai Yang was completely lost. He looked around blankly, only to find more than a dozen pairs of eyes fixed on him...

Fine, this was probably their custom. He couldn't refuse!

Bai Yang finally got a true taste of a life where all he had to do was open his mouth for food. The roasted meat was actually quite delicious. He had no idea what kind of meat it was, though the flavor was rather simple—just saltiness and an odd, unfamiliar fragrance.

By the time the meal ended, Bai Yang's belly was round and full. As they left, he keenly noticed that every one of those burly men gave him a look that said men understood men. Even the white-bearded old man did the same...

It was night now, and they were in the same room as last time—but what did it mean for that gorgeous girl to shyly follow him inside?
