Leisurely moments always seemed to fly by. Before they knew it, the clock was nearing two in the afternoon, and the appointed time for Wang Qingyu to meet with the Roth Family was drawing close.
"Let's go meet the heir to the world's number one family."
As the appointment time approached, Bai Yang stood up first and said so.
Wang Qingyu touched up her makeup and asked curiously, "Honey, why do I get the feeling you're really interested in the Roth Family?"
"The family's true history can be traced back to before the European Middle Ages. It's far more than just the few centuries of heritage on the surface. A family with such an ancient lineage is a living history book in its own right. Isn't that worth being curious about?" Bai Yang said with a smile.
Wang Qingyu was taken aback. The information Bai Yang had given her hadn't mentioned anything like that. Astonished, she said, "The Roth Family dates back to before the European Middle Ages? That would make it at least a thousand years old. How could a family remain prosperous for so long?"
It was truly hard to believe. Looking across Huaxia's five thousand years of history, there wasn't a single family with such an ancient lineage. Forget a thousand years; there were hardly any that had lasted more than two centuries. Wang Qingyu's elders were high-ranking officials, so she knew many secrets ordinary people didn't, and she was almost certain of this.
"And yet that's the truth." Bai Yang shrugged. Then his tone shifted, and he said thoughtfully, "Actually, Qingyu, don't underestimate Huaxia. Although we don't have families with lineages stretching back a thousand years, we do have other ancient traditions. We just tend to overlook them."
"You mean...?" Wang Qingyu asked, not quite following.
