The thousand-meter hall looked spacious and bare. Two rows of weapon racks stood along the sides, with a low table at the head of the room. Behind it hung a map, and below were two more rows of low tables. Apart from these, the hall had no other furnishings.

The group arrived, and Chen Yongfa went straight to the low table in front of the map. He turned and waved. "Sit."

Armor clattered as it scraped against armor, and the dozen or so experts who had come with them took their seats.
