And so, an astonishing scene unfolded in space: after firing, a macro cannon took just five seconds to reload. Its fully charged electromagnetic coils launched a shell, which ignited its engines for two-stage acceleration once it reached top speed,

before plunging into a biological warship at sublight speed.

A macro cannon could reload in five seconds, and an Imperial warship carried anywhere from dozens to hundreds or even thousands of them. That meant the entire Divine Realm Fleet unleashed a barrage every five seconds.

Under the furious hail of fire, the entire Devouring Bee Swarm fleet was caught in a storm of artillery fire. Dense explosions raised successive miniature spatial shockwaves, tearing apart and destroying swathes of biological warships.

But more astonishing than the spectacular macro cannon arrays were the shipboard high-energy laser arrays. With power in plentiful supply, these laser cannons swept back and forth through the vacuum, firing searing beams that carved through the Devouring Bee Swarm.

Operating at full power, the laser beams wove nets of high-energy light across the depths of space. The scorching beams could last for several minutes before the sustained heat ablated and destroyed their emitters, bringing the barrage to a halt.

Under normal circumstances, a warship's laser array would never be used so recklessly. It would only be activated for at most a minute at a time, then require a prescribed cooling period after firing. Only when its temperature had fallen to a safe level could it fire again.

But energy-form warships had no such concerns. After the energy-gathering components were ablated by the heat, it took only a second or two for energy to envelop the damaged parts and rapidly repair them.

Then the laser array, having just completed its attack, would fire again, and the laser net that had just
