Fifteen thousand points of Origin weren't enough to strengthen it. To strengthen it again would take at least twenty thousand, maybe even more!

Lin Chen sighed softly. He'd been gathering Origin fast, but he hadn't expected the amount needed for strengthening to rise along with it.

I hope Xiao Chun can find the hideouts of the other regional bosses soon! Lin Chen thought to himself.

The best way to obtain Origin quickly was to kill a group of ghosts or exotic beasts. But most exotic beasts mutated individually, and group mutations were rare, so they were seldom found in packs.

That made groups of ghosts the best source of Origin for Lin Chen at present!

After entering the city, Lin Chen found a restaurant, ate a simple meal, then looked for a nearby hotel to rest.

Reviewing the day's gains, he'd earned not only a large amount of Origin, but also tens of millions of Great Xia dollars. Vajra Temple had transferred him fifty million, and the Xuzhou Demon Suppression Division had sent him three million in total.

After washing up, Lin Chen got ready to rest. Just as he was about to go to bed, a crisp knock sounded at the door. When he opened it, he found a seductively dressed woman standing outside.

"Handsome, are you interested in special services?" the beauty asked, looking at Lin Chen.

"Special services?"

Lin Chen paused, then laughed. "You?"

"If you're not satisfied, I can introduce you to some of my sisters," the beauty explained.

"You have other sisters?"

Lin Chen's eyes lit up as he looked at the beauty before him. "Are they coming here, or am I going to them?"

"It'd be best if you came, of course. If my sisters come here, it might draw a bit too much attention." The beauty paused, then continued, "Besides, if they come over, you'll have to reimburse their cab fare, whether you like them or not."

"Then I'll come over. That way, I can take a good look at your sisters!" Lin Chen said with a faint smile.

The beauty's face brightened at his reply, and she hurriedly said, "Handsome, follow me!"

Lin Chen left the hotel with the beauty and drove to the little shop she'd mentioned. After more than ten minutes on the road, they arrived at an unremarkable alley.

The beauty glanced at the alley beside her and smiled. "Handsome, it's just inside."

Lin Chen nodded. Then, led by the beauty, he came to a room with its rolling shutter half lowered. Inside were four more beauties dressed to kill.

"Handsome, aren't the girls here lovely?" the beauty asked Lin Chen. As she spoke, she pulled the rolling shutter down.

Lin Chen's expression shifted slightly. "Why did you pull the door down?"

"It wouldn't be good if other people saw what we're doing," the beauty said with a soft laugh.

Just then, Lin Chen looked at the group of beauties. "Which boss are you with?"

"Boss?"

At his words, all five beauties clearly froze. Seeing their reaction, Lin Chen knew the truth: these five ghosts didn't have a boss at all.

They were nothing but rogue ghosts!

Disappointment welled up in Lin Chen. He'd realized the beauty was a ghost as soon as he'd seen her at the hotel. He'd originally planned to kill her right away, but then he'd learned she had sisters.

Lin Chen had instinctively assumed there might be a boss behind them. After all, according to Xiao Chun, the ghosts in Xuzhou's urban area had divided up their hunting grounds, and they rarely crossed into one another's territory.

But after coming here and giving them a simple test, he'd discovered that the female ghosts were just rogue ghosts. They had no organization at all!

"Are there only five of you sisters?"

"Handsome, are you really that strong? Five aren't enough for you?" The beauty in the lead chuckled and looked Lin Chen up and down, as if trying to figure out whether he was really as strong as he claimed.

"You'll find out soon enough just how strong I am. But five really aren't enough. Can you call a few more over?" Lin Chen asked the woman in the lead.

"Sorry, handsome, there are only five of us here." The beauty shook her head, then laughed. "But I'd sure like to see if you're really as strong as you say!"

"All right. In that case, I'll play with you."

Lin Chen smiled faintly, summoned his Blood Qi True Flame, and charged straight at the beauty before him.

A short while later, Lin Chen raised the rolling shutter. The room was already empty. The five beauties seemed to have vanished into thin air, but they'd actually been reduced to ashes.

"I told you five weren't enough, but you wouldn't listen. Now you've gone and played yourselves to death!" Lin Chen sighed, left the alley, and drove back to the hotel.

The five ghosts had only provided three thousand points of Origin. One had been a Second-order Ghost; the rest were all First-order Ghosts.

Perhaps because he'd been so busy that day, Lin Chen didn't wake until the next morning, when his phone rang. He checked it and saw an unfamiliar number.

"Master, it's me, Xiao Chun." Xiao Chun's voice came through as soon as he answered.

Lin Chen perked up at once and hurriedly asked, "Did you find the hideout of another boss?"

"Not yet. I have some news to report to you, Master."

Hearing that there was no news about another boss's hideout, Lin Chen was immediately disappointed. "What news?"

"I'm not sure how it happened, but word about last night got out on the street. Now the bosses in Xuzhou aren't readily taking in outsiders." Xiao Chun sounded somewhat helpless.

Lin Chen paused. More than a hundred ghosts had suddenly been wiped out. If the bosses in Xuzhou knew nothing after a whole night, that would've been strange.

It seemed the bosses in Xuzhou were getting scared, too. After all, neither Brother Li nor Silly Biao was weaker than the others, yet both of their groups had been uprooted overnight. How could the other ghost groups not be afraid?
