The sudden knock at the door startled Sarada and Sumire, who were both undercover.
Sarada quickly shut down the computer surveillance, while Sumire hastily stuffed the secret documents on the desk into her clothes.
"Who is it?"
"It's me."
"Mitsuki?" The two girls breathed a sigh of relief, but didn't fully let their guard down.
"Can I come in?"
"Come in."
Mitsuki stepped inside and gave Sarada and Sumire a slightly puzzled look.
What were the two of them doing cooped up in this little room in the middle of the day?
He'd heard that some ninja liked watching all kinds of strange things on their computers during the day. Were the two of them secretly learning to do that, too?
"What are you two doing?"
"Nothing. We're just looking at the computer together!"
"Hmm..."
Mitsuki fell silent. He hadn't expected his guess to be right, so he didn't feel comfortable pressing them for details.
Although he had no need for that sort of thing himself, he could understand why his friends might.
"Mitsuki, did you need something?"
Sarada quickly changed the subject, feeling awkward.
"Shikadai and Chocho said they haven't seen much of either of you these past few days, and they're worried about you, so they asked me to check in."
The young Konoha shinobi of their generation were close. Since Sarada and Sumire had been busy gathering intelligence and installing cameras these past few days, they'd rarely shown their faces, and their other friends were naturally concerned.
Especially since they'd recently been attacked by the evil Boruto Otsutsuki, who had killed Lady Hinata Uzumaki right in front of them.
Everyone was worried that Sarada and the others had been so shaken that they'd become despondent.
"We're fine. We've just been a little tired lately and wanted to
