My editor said the book would go on sale at 12:05 p.m., and I was feeling a little nervous...

First, let me talk about this book.

When most people write fanfiction, they tend to take the protagonist's perspective, or that of the protagonist's group, as they face off against the villains.

Some fanfics take the villains' side as they go up against the protagonist's faction.

In the Bleach fanfics I've read, most protagonists side with the Soul Society to fight Aizen and Yhwach. After all, most people who watch the anime put themselves in the protagonist's shoes, so that's perfectly normal.

But I'd say my book falls into the category of stories told from the villains' side.

That doesn't mean the story is about helping Aizen, or helping Yhwach.

I was thinking that, compared with Naruto and One Piece, Bleach has a shorter run and too few villains. Its main antagonists are just Aizen and Yhwach.

As everyone knows, most manga introduce new plotlines and background details through conflicts with the enemy. Bleach's short run is the result of having too few major antagonists. Its world is huge, but the story barely makes use of anything beyond the Seireitei and Las Noches.

So I thought I'd design a new boss, someone like Aizen and Yhwach, who would become the next big boss for the protagonist's group and the Soul Society to take on.

This might count as a spoiler, but anyone who's made it this far should have gotten the sense that Gaoyu exists halfway between a manga character and a higher-dimensional being. When he talks about making friends, most of the time he's really just trying to "grind" their favor by doing things for them, like someone working through a video game's NPCs. So it makes perfect sense that
