The ancient, mysterious temple stood silently within the old city. Time had weathered the stone structure into a mottled ruin, and standing inside it, Ian had no idea what era he had been brought to.

He looked up. Dim, yellowed light, as though sealed away by time itself, seeped laboriously through the uneven cracks in the dome like crawling snails.

Dust danced wildly in the feeble light, draping the ancient stone building in a mysterious, weighty veil. Flames flickered continuously atop the altar.

"There are traces of magic here." Ian looked around. Strange totems were carved into the ancient stone pillars, every stroke revealing both the glory and age of this civilization.

Every stone within sight was etched with the traces of time. Their rough surfaces and mottled patterns seemed to whisper that they had existed for countless years. Twisted, eerie markings intertwined across the walls, resembling ancient writing and some mysterious sort of totem at once.

They seemed to conceal a power capable of overturning the world's understanding. Moreover, seven enormous statues stood around the altar. Their faces had long since been blurred by the erosion of time, yet they still exuded an air of majesty and mystery. Broken stone slabs lay scattered across the ground, as though they had once recorded the history of what had happened here.

"Not Runes..." Ian tried to decipher the magical script in the temple. However, just as he had been unable to understand the magical script in the Misty High Tower, he once again found himself in a blind spot of knowledge.

The magical script here was somewhat similar to that in the tower, yet they were entirely different systems. By rough estimation, this time was probably at least two thousand years away from the 20th century.

After all.
