Sunlight spilled over Hogwarts' ancient castle. Hermione looked helplessly at the lesson plans and list of Potion Ingredients Snape had given her. No one could have predicted what would happen today.
It was downright surreal.
Even in her dreams, she could never have imagined something so absurd.
Hermione had never thought
that she would have the honor of becoming a Hogwarts professor.
And while she was still in her First Year, no less.
Of course,
it definitely would not be under her original identity.
Today was the day she had to take over Professor Snape's Potions Class. Though she knew it would be no easy task, she could only grit her teeth and disguise herself as Snape.
Since she had done something that went against Snape's usual persona, Hermione fled quickly when facing Professor Lockhart. Her habitual respect for teachers had simply kicked in too strongly.
"Damn it!"
Hermione slipped away incredibly fast.
She had thought that if Lockhart did not react in time, it would be as though she had not given herself away at all. The thought was a little childish—but then again, she really was only a First Year child.
Eleven years old.
No matter how mature she acted, she was still a child at heart. Because of that, Hermione failed to hear Lockhart's final murmur and had no idea that one tiny tell had exposed her completely.
Of course,
the very nature of the identity "Lockhart" was that of an impostor, so Aurora, who was wearing Lockhart's face in place of her grandfather, was hardly any better.
She would not expose Hermione either.
Thus, Hermione escaped disaster.
"Next are the First Year Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students." Not having to attend class with students from her own House and year was, to Hermione, a blessing amid misfortune.
