There were actually many ways to pass the time when bored.
After playing two rounds of Wizard Chess with Bella, the train finally pulled into Hogsmeade Station.
Having beaten Jon twice in a row, Bella finally relaxed a little. She was not even as excited when she saw Cedric.
"You don't like Cedric anymore?"

Jon curled his lip. He finally spotted his roommates and said goodbye to Bella.

Come to think of it, Bella was pretty impressive at school too. Anyone who could become good friends with a prefect could not be all that ordinary.
His roommates were waiting for Jon in a Thestral carriage. Once he got in, it began to move.
Fren and Scaly clearly had a lot to say to Jon. They had been chattering nonstop from the moment he climbed aboard, leaving Stephen and Jon thoroughly helpless.
"If you were really that bored, you could have written to me. Besides, didn't I give you my home phone number?"
"He was bored. I was obviously excited." Fren's face practically screamed how much he missed magic. "You know we can't use magic at home. I was about to suffocate."
