Inception (IV)

"What should we do now?"

Laura's voice was tense. She had only just become a witch and had never imagined that her very first mission would involve such a serious situation.

"Relax. If I dared bring you in, then naturally I came fully prepared. But if we want to avoid hurting her, we'll have to rely on your abilities to get out."

"Yes, boss."

"No rush. We won't find any clues right away anyway, so we might as well wait."

Jon pulled open the ward window, and the world outside immediately began to materialize. Watching the change, he gained a rough understanding of the state and strength of this consciousness.

"Laura, come here."

Laura silently walked over and watched Jon step out through the window.

Nothing changed. He stood in midair as though he were on solid ground.

Nothing was strange in a world of consciousness. Besides, Jon could do this even in reality. After all, he was a very powerful man.

"Boss, do I need to go out too?"

Jon nodded. "Of course. Don't worry, I've got you covered. You'll be fine."

Laura shakily stepped out through the window. Behind her, a figure suddenly flashed past.

"Mr. Lockhart?"

The instant Laura turned around, she recognized who the figure was.

"Why are you here?"

Unfortunately, this Lockhart did not speak to her. Jon, however, smiled.

"He isn't Lockhart. He's just a substitute Lockhart left here. Back then, Lockhart wanted to leave in secret, so he made some arrangements and had someone stay here in his place. Time passed quickly, and we almost forgot about it. I never expected this person to still be here. How interesting."

But where that person was did not matter. He was not the focus of what Jon and Laura had to deal with. Laura stepped
