Harry's Compromise (Please Subscribe)

The scene seemed to freeze in an instant.

Harry, Ginny, Neville, and every one of the Death Eaters ignored one another, all staring at the top of the glass tank.

A brain leaped from the green liquid like a lively fish. It seemed to hover in midair for a moment before flying toward Ron, spinning out threads as it went. It was as though strips bearing moving images were flying out of it, unfurling in loops like reels of film.

"Hahaha, Harry, look—"

Ron spoke as he watched the brain spit out gaudy brain matter. "Harry, come touch it. It must feel strange—"

"Ron, don't!"

Harry did not know what would happen if Ron touched the thought-tentacles trailing behind the brain, but he was certain it would not be anything good.

He rushed forward, but Ron had already reached out and grabbed the brain.

The moment those tentacles touched Ron's skin, they immediately began winding around his arms like ropes.

"Harry, look, what's happening—no, no—I don't like this—stop—stop—"

But the thin strips had already wrapped around Ron's chest. He desperately tore at the brain, which clung tightly around his body like an octopus.

"Diffindo!"

Harry shouted, hoping to sever the tentacles before they covered Ron's eyes, but they did not break.

Ron fell over, still thrashing constantly as he tried to break free.

"Harry, he'll suffocate!"

Ginny screamed. Her ankle was injured, so she remained on the ground, unable to move—then a red flash shot from a Death Eater's wand and struck Ginny squarely in the face.

She toppled sideways and lay there unconscious.

"Stupefy!"

Neville shouted, spinning around and waving Hermione's wand at the approaching Death Eaters. "Stupefy! Stupefy!"

But it had no effect at all.

A Death Eater fired a Stunning Spell at Neville, missing by a few
