History

Rise to prominence

The Dao Yi Sacred Sect emerged approximately ten thousand years ago and gradually established itself as a hegemonic Sacred Land in the Southern Region 67 72. A millennium before the present events, Kong Huai—then the sect's Holy Son—performed exceptionally at the Myriad Races Grand Gathering, securing the sect's standing as a top power for the following thousand years 305.

The sect's present influence is strongly tied to Su Changqing. His consecutive breakthroughs, challenge victories, and overwhelming combat displays repeatedly elevated the sect's prestige among cultivators and rival factions 14 15 39 43.

Recruitment and expansion

The sect participated in the Southern Region's Nine Profound Gathering to recruit talent. Su Changqing attended as acting Holy Lord, leading disciples into the ceremony and attracting widespread attention with his Saint Third Heaven cultivation 42 43.

Following the sect's public displays of strength and the Dao Yi Holy Lord's protection of Su Changqing, numerous candidates abandoned other Sacred Lands' assessments to seek admission into the Dao Yi Sacred Sect 72. Its reputation was driven especially by its powerful Holy Son and protective Sect Master.

Conflict with the Undying Demon Race

After Su Changqing killed Xiang Yuan, the Undying Demon Race declared the Dao Yi Sacred Sect an irreconcilable enemy 67. The sect later deployed thousands of God King Realm core disciples to aid the Great Feather Divine Dynasty against the race, reversing the battlefield's momentum 131 135.

In the aftermath, the Great Feather Divine Dynasty formally declared that any enemy of the Dao Yi Sacred Sect would also be its enemy, creating an alliance between the two major powers 162 163.

Burial Heaven Clan crisis

The sect faced a major assault when the Undying Old Man and the Burial Heaven Clan targeted Heavenly Saint Mountain. Kong Huai and the Northern Underworld Holy Master confronted the Undying Old Man, while Su Changqing fought Young Master Undying and three Supreme experts 337 346 347.

Kong Huai used the Indestructible Scripture to absorb the Heaven Burial energy released through the Undying Old Man's Great Tomb Descent, preventing the immediate annihilation of the sect's disciples 344 345. Although the disciples survived, the eventual destruction of the great tomb left Heavenly Saint Mountain, Sacred Son Peak, Saintess Peak, and the sect's mountain gate reduced to a crater 357.

The Dao Yi Holy Lord subsequently led the surviving sect members to Heavenly Saint City while plans for reconstruction were made 378.

Leadership

• Dao Yi Holy Lord Kong Huai — Sect Master and former Holy Son. He is a Supreme Realm expert whose combat strength rose dramatically through the Indestructible Scripture and Burial Heaven Qi 115 339 344.
• Su Changqing — Holy Son and the sect's foremost prodigy. He has served as acting Holy Lord during major events and is treated with exceptional favor by Kong Huai 43 115.

Former mountain gate

The sect was based on Heavenly Saint Mountain, a spiritual mountain with exceptionally dense spiritual energy and influence extending tens of thousands of miles around it 110 335.

Heavenly Saint City

Heavenly Saint City lies below Heavenly Saint Mountain. The city spans hundreds of miles, has walls ten zhang high, and houses more than one million people 328.

The city developed under the sect's protection: mortals gathered there because they did not need to fear demons or monsters near a righteous Sacred Land 328. After the mountain gate's destruction, it became the sect's temporary settlement and remained under Dao Yi Sacred Sect jurisdiction 378 463.

Doctrine and Conduct

The Dao Yi Sacred Sect is regarded as a righteous Daoist faction. Its regional rules forbid indiscriminate killing, bullying mortals, and similar abuses by nearby cultivators 335.

These restrictions contributed to Heavenly Saint City's prosperity, though some smaller sect cultivators resented being unable to exploit weaker people without consequence 335.

Internally, the sect has a notably relaxed, familial atmosphere. Senior disciples may address the Sect Master informally, and Kong Huai tolerates Su Changqing calling him “old man” due to their close master-disciple relationship 115 300.
