Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Traditional forging institution 7 9 10 Led by Divine Craftsman Lou Gao, with extensive ore resources and workshops producing weapons, armor, and farming tools. Its institutional strength remains insufficient to resist Spirit Hall.
Precision firearm prototype 43 44 Lou Gao produces a handgun from Lin Xia’s designs. Tests pierce a one-inch Fine Iron plate and destroy a three-inch plate with a thunder-fire bullet; demanding precision prevents ordinary blacksmiths from readily reproducing it.
Secret rifle development 45 Lou Gao and Lin Xia begin producing rifle and sniper-rifle components in a restricted workshop while developing a Soul Tool mecha concept.
Functional Soul Tool manufacturing 50 Lou Gao creates a working storage Soul Tool, then replicates sound transmitters, illumination devices, protective amulets, and a damaged offensive array. Replication does not yet provide the principles needed for an original mecha.
Original Soul Tool arrays 64 Patterns from the Void Stone vein enable Lou Gao to develop storage, connecting, and power arrays, establishing a possible route to a moving mecha prototype.
Operational Chi Xiao mecha 187 188 Lin Xia and Si Long successfully activate the machine. Its movements respond directly to Lin Xia’s thoughts, and a test punch is assessed as reaching a Soul Sage’s full-force strike without exhausting its potential. Its existence is initially restricted to the two of them.
Mecha legions 202 Lin Xia reports that imperial rare metals and mining rights became the foundation for the Association’s rise and the creation of mecha legions.
Continent-wide Soul Tool network 210 211 Regional branches, major-power partnerships, civilian Soul Tools, urban energy and transportation facilities, and advanced defensive systems make the Association an integral part of the continent’s economy and infrastructure.

History

Early Position and Lin Xia’s Recruitment

Under Lou Gao, the Association possesses rare ores, advanced forging expertise, and knowledge of mineral deposits. These resources make it Lin Xia’s preferred destination: both he and Larvitar strengthen themselves by consuming ore. He nevertheless recognizes that joining would expose him to the Association’s conflict with Spirit Hall 7.

At headquarters, steward Old Li initially dismisses Lin Xia because of his age and slight build. Lou Gao intervenes and tests his unusual mineral-identification ability. Lin Xia demonstrates that he can chew ore and distinguish its qualities, eventually identifying Star Gold Essence. Rather than merely admitting him, Lou Gao accepts him as his fifth disciple 9 10 12 13.

The Association becomes Lin Xia’s training base and a place where he can openly externalize Larvitar. Lou Gao and his senior disciples teach him forging, mineral identification, and Soul Power control. After Lin Xia produces a refined iron bar through one hundred hammer blows, Lou Gao formally recognizes him as a blacksmith of the Association 11 29 39 41.

Miles’s Extortion and the Spirit Hall Agreement

The Association’s relationship with Spirit Hall deteriorates into repeated harassment and resource seizures under Gengjin bishop Miles Garcia. Miles enters headquarters with his men, injures guards, and attempts to claim newly discovered resources under the pretext of safeguarding them 30.

Lou Gao restrains himself because hundreds of Association members and many dependent commoner blacksmiths would suffer in a wider confrontation. His friendship with Titan and sympathy for the Strength Clan also make him reluctant to cooperate with Spirit Hall, despite Lin Xia’s argument that its upper leadership could remove Miles 31 32.

Lou Gao eventually prioritizes the craftsmen’s survival and sends a letter and token requesting an audience with the Pope. Si Long carries the proposal to Spirit City. Bibi Dong welcomes the intended affiliation but postpones its public announcement until the local corruption has been investigated and purged 33 39 40.

Ghostly Shadow later arrests Miles and returns a storage ring containing materials and Gold Soul Coins illegally seized from the Association over the years. The restitution gives Lou Gao tangible evidence of a changed attitude from Spirit Hall’s upper ranks 52.

Stewardship During Lou Gao’s Absence

Before a five-year absence, Lou Gao entrusts the Association to his five disciples. Si Long stresses their responsibility to protect its craftsmen, industries, and their master’s lifelong work. The senior disciples assume management and daily production duties so Lin Xia can concentrate on inherited knowledge and Soul Tool research 118 119.

Their division of labor preserves ordinary operations while allowing the mecha project to continue despite Lou Gao’s absence 119.

Imperial Rewards and Industrial Expansion

After repairing and optimizing the Star Luo royal family’s Star Radiance Crown, Lin Xia secures resources that materially change the Association’s prospects. Emperor Dai Tianxing grants exclusive mining rights to ten high-quality sites and orders five years of imperial procurement at a 30% premium for its weapons, armor, and civilian tools 178 202.

Lin Xia brings the decree back to headquarters, prompting a city-wide celebration among craftsmen and their families. The new mines and orders provide a financial foundation for improved livelihoods, technical research, and advanced manufacturing 178 183 184 187.

Over five years, the Association expands into major cities, transportation hubs, and mining regions throughout the continent. Lin Xia combines this growth with strategic partnerships and becomes Gengjin City’s city lord. When Lou Gao returns, he finds both the city and headquarters radically transformed 210 211 212.

Admission and Training

  • Basic assessment: Applicants must wield a ten-jin hammer, strike a standard iron billet one hundred consecutive times, and produce the required basic shape 9.
  • Early instruction: Lin Xia studies forging fundamentals, heat control, mineral identification, and fine Soul Power control under Lou Gao and his senior brothers 29 39 40.
  • Expanded membership system: Members receive standardized technical training, including foundational Soul Tool knowledge, and welfare protections while following Association regulations 211.
  • Reach: Its later system incorporates both independently trained masters and otherwise unaffiliated ordinary blacksmiths, accounting for more than 90% of the continent’s blacksmiths 211.

Capabilities and Industry

Forging and Precision Manufacturing

The Association produces conventional equipment and later develops advanced alloys and Soul Tool-integrated weapons 9 214.

  • Early products include weapons, armor, and agricultural tools 9.
  • Lou Gao’s Thousand Layered Tremor Gold Hand combines Soul Power-infused vibration, hammering, and chiseling to manufacture extremely precise components 43.
  • Early firearm production depends heavily on Lou Gao: even his senior disciples cannot immediately make a qualified set of handgun components independently 44.
  • Later equipment designs emphasize ergonomics, Soul Power conduction, and integrated attack or defense arrays 212.

Mineral Procurement and Prospecting

Ore supply supports both its manufacturing base and Lin Xia’s unusual cultivation method 7 198.

  • The Association owns or operates mines and uses experienced prospectors and detection Soul Tools 20 26.
  • Larvitar discovers a valuable Purple Lightning Iron vein behind a wall in an area previously judged exhausted and worthless 26.
  • Lou Gao permits Lin Xia and Larvitar to take the entire newly discovered vein for their growth 27.
  • Imperial mining concessions include Red Copper Ore in Xishan County and Fine Iron Ore in Black Rock Valley 178.
  • Later supply combines Spirit Hall and imperial channels with Lin Xia and Tyranitar’s enhanced mineral-sensing talents 198.

Soul Tool Research

Research progresses from copying existing devices to developing original arrays and integrated mechanical systems 50 64.

  • Early replicated devices cover storage, communication, illumination, weak protective shields, and limited offensive functions 50.
  • The first major bottleneck is making Soul Power communicate with machinery rather than dissipate or conflict inside it 45 47.
  • Original storage, connecting, and power arrays provide a foundation for mecha development 64.
  • Later research includes cutting-edge Soul Tools, unique alloys, transforming liquid metal, life-energy crystals, and complex holographic designs 214.

Mecha and Institutional Defense

Chi Xiao gives the Association a prospective military force of its own rather than leaving it solely dependent on manufacturing equipment for others 187.

  • Its initial construction combines a Star Gold Essence skeleton, core arrays, and the Tear of the Star Core as its power source 187.
  • Lin Xia’s thoughts directly control its movements without perceptible delay during the first test 187.
  • Lin Xia and Si Long initially conceal it because premature disclosure could endanger both the Association and Gengjin City 188.
  • Later accounts confirm the creation of mecha legions using resources obtained from Star Luo 202.
  • Chi Xiao subsequently demonstrates energy shielding, force-dampening, and starlight-thruster maneuvering against Lou Gao 196.

Civilian Infrastructure

The mature Association supplies technology used beyond workshops and battlefields 211.

  • Farming tools and construction components.
  • Soul Tool energy cores and urban transportation facilities.
  • Household Soul Tool products.
  • Advanced defensive and weapons systems 211.
