"It's an Overlord Squid!"
Li Jinsheng looked up at the enormous mollusk and could not help crying out. His voice carried a trace of weakness.
Gu Yue was slightly stunned. She had not expected Mu Ye to be so powerful that he had captured this Overlord Squid so quickly. This squid had roughly a thousand years of cultivation; in the sea, aside from whale-type Soul Beasts of similar size, no Soul Beast was its match.
Mu Ye flung his prey onto the shallows. The Overlord Squid was like an overturned black submarine, its dozens-of-meters-long tentacles slapping against the sea with a smack, sending waves splashing high into the air.
The setting sun shone upon its blackish-purple skin, giving it a cold metallic sheen. The Overlord Squid's suckers opened and closed like rows of iron rings striking each other, clanking loudly.
Mu Ye strode through the water, gripping its enormous head with one hand. The veins on his arm bulged like several cables biting into hard rock.
"A thousand-year Overlord Squid." He smiled faintly, excitement glinting in his eyes. "That should be enough to fill the gap in your teeth, kid."
Li Jinsheng stood beside the squid, his body swallowed by the giant beast's shadow. Only his eyes remained, frighteningly bright like two luminous pearls.
He reached out and touched those suckers with his fingertips. Where the youth touched, beyond Mu Ye's notice, the Soul Beast's life energy silently drained away.
At that moment, every part of Li Jinsheng's body craved energy. He only felt a cool sensation flow into him.
"Can this thing be eaten raw?!"
Gu Yue took half a step back, her black hair tousled by the fishy wind, but her voice remained calm. "Uncle, are you sure Li Jinsheng can finish it?"
Mu Ye flicked his wrist.
