Severing the Three Corpses, the Path of the Quasi-Saint (Please Follow, Please Vote!)

As the Great Divine Ability Users and Great Luo Dao Lords bowed and kowtowed, an invisible wisp of fortune from each of them gathered into Dao Ancestor Hongjun's Auspicious Cloud Dao Fruit.

In the Darkness, Dao Ancestor Hongjun sensed that his connection to the Great Desolation World had grown tighter, and the path of Merger with Dao had abruptly advanced by a great stretch.

Perhaps after the next sermon, he would be able to attempt Merger with Dao!

Nodding to himself, Hongjun sat upright upon the Cloud Bed. He swept his gaze over everyone in the Purple Heaven Palace and, without wasting words, began his sermon. "This Poor Daoist and my fellow Daoists established the Immortal Dao. In the previous sermon, I explained the mysteries of the many Immortal Dao realms: Origin Immortal, True Immortal, Heavenly Immortal, Golden Immortal, Taiyi, and Great Luo.

"This time, I shall explain the Great Dao beyond the Great Luo Dao Realm. Within the Immortal Dao, it is called the Quasi-Saint Realm—the transcendent path from a Great Luo Dao Lord to the Primordial Saint Realm.

"The Quasi-Saint Dao Realm is equivalent to the realm of Great Divine Ability Users today. However, the path of Great Divine Ability Users is obscure and difficult to traverse. One can rely only upon one's own talent and comprehension, expending vast amounts of time and effort to grope forward through darkness and carve out a path.

"The path of the Quasi-Saint, however, is convenient and easy to travel. This Poor Daoist created the method of 'Severing the Three Corpses.' In cultivation, one must sever the Good Corpse, Evil Corpse, and Corpse of Attachment. With every corpse severed, one takes another step closer to the Great Dao.

"Sever all Three Corpses, then comprehend the true essence of unifying the Three Corpses as one, and you may pluck the Primordial Dao Fruit and attain the realm of a Sage!"

As Dao Ancestor Hongjun's words fell, the Great Divine Ability Users seated cross-legged upon their cushions in the Purple Heaven Palace instantly felt their hearts burn with fervor, a flash of blazing heat passing through their eyes.

The path of Great Divine Ability Users was more than merely obscure and difficult—it was an endless abyss with no end in sight.

Ever since entering the Dao Realm of Great Divine Ability Users, even the slightest improvement in their Daoxing required at least hundreds or thousands of Kalpas.

If their luck was poor, it was even possible for their Daoxing to remain utterly stagnant for an entire epoch—twelve Kalpas!

One had to know that those capable of proving the Dao of the Great Divine Ability User realm possessed foundations, fortune, wisdom, and perseverance that stood at the very peak of the Primordial World.

This alone showed just how difficult it was to walk the path of Great Divine Ability Users and prove the Dao of the Primordial Saint Realm!

Yet now, Dao Ancestor Hongjun was willing to share the art of "Severing the Three Corpses" and explain the path of the Quasi-Saint. Without doubt, he had illuminated the road of the Great Dao for these bewildered Great Divine Ability Users.

What was more, Dao Ancestor Hongjun before them had walked the Quasi-Saint path of "Severing the Three Corpses," plucked the Primordial Dao Fruit, and proven the Dao to the realm of a Sage.

This naturally stirred the hearts of all the Great Divine Ability Users even more!

Just as the thoughts of the guests in the Purple Heaven Palace churned, Dao Ancestor Hongjun's voice rang out once more. "The Three Corpses gather all manner of deluded thoughts from oneself and are not entities in their own right. They must be entrusted to Innate Spiritual Treasures before the Great Dao may be achieved.

"Otherwise, without anything to rely upon, those deluded thoughts will collapse back into the main body and continue to cloud one's Dao heart. Attempting to sever the corpses a second time would be as difficult as ascending to heaven!"

Hearing this, the Great Divine Ability Users in the Purple Heaven Palace attached even greater importance to Innate Spiritual Treasures.

Although they possessed several Innate Spiritual Treasures, most were Low-grade or Mid-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures. They had only one or two High-grade or Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures.

Though Dao Ancestor Hongjun had said that "Severing the Three Corpses" merely required an Innate Spiritual Treasure to house one's deluded thoughts, without any demand regarding its grade, cultivators who could prove the Dao of Great Divine Ability Users were all people of penetrating wisdom.

Hearing the strings, they understood the elegant tune: the higher the grade of the Innate Spiritual Treasure used to sever the Three Corpses, the greater the potential of the Three Corpses produced.

Unless driven to utter necessity, they certainly would not use Low-grade or Mid-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures to sever the Three Corpses.

As for the Great Luo Dao Lords, they longed for Innate Spiritual Treasures. Unlike Great Divine Ability Users, they were fortunate enough merely to possess Innate Spiritual Treasures at all; how could they possibly disdain their low grade?

One could imagine that after the Purple Heaven Palace sermon ended, the value of Innate Spiritual Treasures in the Primordial World would soar, and the struggles surrounding them would grow even more brutal.

"Teacher Hongjun, if one has no Innate Spiritual Treasure, can Innate Spiritual Roots be used to sever the corpses?" Before Daoist Randeng, a Dao Lord at the peak of the Great Luo realm bowed to Hongjun and asked respectfully.

Innate Spiritual Treasures were scarce in the Great Desolation. Though this man had cultivated all the way to the peak of the Great Luo realm and possessed two or three Innate Spiritual Treasures, they were all Low-grade or Mid-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures. Yet when he had taken form, a High-grade Innate Spiritual Root had accompanied his birth.

Perhaps unwilling to use Mid-grade or Low-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures to sever the Three Corpses, a spark of inspiration struck him, prompting this question.

Hearing this, Dao Ancestor Hongjun, seated upon the Cloud Bed, nodded. "Anything Innate may be used for severing the corpses!"

Before the man could rejoice, Dao Ancestor Hongjun continued, "However, most Innate objects have not undergone nurturing and evolution. They remain in a state of chaos and lack complete Innate Divine Prohibitions. Their ability to restrain deluded thoughts is inferior to that of Innate Spiritual Treasures, and the Three Corpses severed may possess flaws..."

After briefly explaining the Quasi-Saint path of "Severing the Three Corpses," Hongjun began his sermon in earnest, expounding upon the mysteries of the Quasi-Saint Dao Realm, the secret art of Severing the Three Corpses, and how to use Innate Spiritual Treasures to house the deluded thoughts of the Three Corpses.

In an instant, Golden Lotuses fell throughout the Purple Heaven Palace, boundless purple qi swirled in the air, and auspicious phenomena rose in succession. The Great Divine Ability Users listened, utterly intoxicated.

While the Great Divine Ability Users and Great Luo Dao Lords in the Purple Heaven Palace immersed themselves in the mysterious Dao Realm, the discussion of the Dao between Lu Yuan and the other four in Sanqing Palace also came to an end.

After bowing and bidding farewell to Daoist Duobao, Saint Mother Jin Ling, and Immortal Elder Nanji, Lu Yuan transformed into a streak of cloudlight. Riding upon auspicious clouds, he flew out of Kunlun Mountain Dao Field and headed toward Qingxu Mountain in the southern region.

He had been away from Qingxu Mountain Cave Heaven Blessed Land for a full Kalpa. He wondered how things were within the Cave Heaven Blessed Land.

Qingxu Mountain Cave Heaven Blessed Land had no fewer than three Innate Spiritual Roots, among which the Tree of Life was even a Top-grade Innate Spiritual Root!

Even if Qingxu Mountain Cave Heaven Blessed Land was protected by the Innate Grand Formation, the Profound Yellow Pure Turgid Qi Grand Formation, and Lu Yuan had also set up the Great Formation of Escaping Fate to muddle the power of fate and make cultivators unconsciously overlook Qingxu Mountain—

If he did not return to take a look, his heart would never truly be at ease.

Only the Top-grade Innate Spiritual Root, the Tree of Life, within Qingxu Mountain Cave Heaven Blessed Land could accomplish this.

Yet even though the Tree of Life could produce Life Essence, according to Lu Yuan's estimates, nurturing the Black Gourd and Three-Petal Green Lotus into Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasures would still require at least several epochs!
