One night passed. Teach was still training when suddenly, he looked up at the sky outside. "They're here," Teach muttered to himself.
"Huh? Who's here, Boss Teach?" Mobius had woken up and was confused by Teach's words.
"Ngh!" Pedro, who was sleeping in bed, suddenly trembled as if sensing something terrifying. He was jolted awake from his dream and looked outside. "S-scary!" Pedro exclaimed, his eyes wide with fear. He jumped out of bed and ran to Teach's side, finally calming down. He felt safe next to Teach.
Teach patted her head, her naturally white, wavy short hair. "It's okay, they're not coming for us."
"Boss, what exactly happened? How come it feels like I'm the only one who doesn't know?" Mobius asked. Even Pedro had sensed it.
"Let's wait and see. Look out the window, and you'll know soon enough," Teach said with a smile. He hadn't told Mobius about his plans; this was not something someone at Mobius's level could be privy to.
Looking out the window, the sky soon changed, darkening. With a whoosh, a strong wind blew, and dark clouds gathered. Looking up, lightning flashed intermittently within the clouds.
Everyone in the royal city looked up at the sky, some walking into the streets, curious, but more filled with fear of the unknown. What was happening? Such strange weather had never occurred before.
Suddenly, a scream, "Ah!" echoed, and almost everyone in the royal city felt a jolt. Many were so scared they cried out.
Mobius's eyes widened, his mouth agape as if it could fit a basketball. "Th-this is?" He recognized it and turned to Teach, seeking confirmation. "That's right, Kaido, Kaido of the Beasts."
Currently the most powerful Great Pirate below the legendary tier, he was famous across the seas for his nearly invincible body.
From between the thick clouds, a blue dragon head emerged, startling everyone.
This wasn't the end. After just the head, the dragon's body gradually revealed itself, fully displayed to everyone in the royal city. Its massive body, hundreds, even thousands of meters long, a complete blue divine dragon, coiled in the sky above the royal city.
It brought shock, but also fear, to the people. "Hey! That's too scary, what kind of ability is that?" Mobius swallowed hard. "Gulp!" He suppressed his shock and turned to ask Teach.
"Hahahaha! Scared, aren't you? I've only seen this form a few times myself!" Teach laughed heartily. Mobius's reaction was within his expectations. He then explained, "Mythical Zoan, Fish-Fish Fruit, Azure Dragon Model."
When they were on the Moby Dick, Kaido often challenged Pops, about once every few months. However, he always fought in his human form. This Azure Dragon form was only revealed in the sky when he came to find them. Teach could tell that Kaido's Azure Dragon form had grown larger and longer than before, meaning Kaido's strength had increased.
"So this is a Mythical Zoan, a creature that only exists in fantasy," Mobius said, a sense of longing rising in his heart.
"Wh-what kind of monster is that?"
"This is too exaggerated, how can such a creature exist?"
"Isn't this a creature from myths?"
After Kaido appeared, he hadn't done much, but the entire royal city fell into chaos. Even more panicked were the tamed pets, becoming restless and fearful. This was a congenital suppression from a higher life form, making them feel compelled to submit.
In the streets and alleys, countless pets ran amok uncontrollably. This was especially true for venomous snakes and fierce beasts, which lost control and began killing people indiscriminately. Many people died at the hands of these beasts.
"Is that a dragon?" In the royal palace, the Third Prince Laimer didn't see it as just a creature but recognized it as a powerful being. He couldn't help but feel ridiculous, his title as Dragon King feeling like a mockery in the face of such a terrifyingly strong individual.
He could clearly sense that this powerful being was far stronger than his father.
Compared to other places, the royal palace had more fierce beasts, but they had mostly lost control. Having been around these creatures for a long time, Laimer could gradually sense their emotions: fear, terror.
Kaido's gaze fell directly on the interior of the royal palace. Looking down from above, he immediately spotted the King, Brady, who possessed the strongest aura, as well as the Beast Paradise built within the royal palace, filled with thousands of beasts subdued by Brady. Kaido had a natural suppressing effect on beasts, but although these beasts were slightly suppressed, they were filled with fighting spirit because they submitted to Brady out of genuine loyalty, not control.
Kaido could see this and became even more wary of Brady's abilities. He couldn't help but think that Brady's ability could also tame Zoan Devil Fruit users, and he became cautious.
Seeing these fierce beasts, along with the thousands of guards in black armor within the royal city, whose auras were all powerful, no less than his own subordinates who often trained with beasts, Kaido realized that his decision not to bring his subordinates was a very wise one.
Without a word, his mind made up, he attacked. "Dragon Breath." With Dragon Breath as his declaration of war, Kaido's voice echoed through the heavens and earth. The divine dragon opened its ferocious maw, inhaling deeply. The powerful air pressure, the wind pressure, seemed to be sucked into its belly, and a dense, crimson-gold energy began to condense.
"Not good, run!" The people inside the royal palace changed their expressions. They could feel the terrifying energy from this move from afar. The fierce beasts sensed the danger even more acutely and frantically ran in all directions.
Others tried to escape, but it was too late. The scorching Dragon Breath descended from the sky. The royal palace was vast, and the Dragon Breath shot directly into its depths. A powerful blast wave spread outwards. The mighty Dragon Breath caused palaces to be affected, collapse, burn, and turn to ash.
The Dragon Breath falling directly from the sky was like a meteor, but it appeared before the eyes of all the residents of the royal city. Such terrifying power left everyone stunned. The royal city was built on high ground, and from afar, one-third of the royal palace's buildings had collapsed. At the epicenter of the Dragon Breath's impact, it was scorched black, the very buildings melted.
The entire city fell silent. "Kaido, what are you doing here? Are you provoking my Kate Kingdom?" Without a word, he unleashed a wide-area attack. From within the ruins, King Brady pushed aside a pillar, which fell with a "bang!", kicking up a cloud of dust.
He looked disheveled, his clothes torn and scorched, but he was unharmed. Although Kaido's Dragon Breath had a wide range and appeared powerful, it was insufficient against a strong Haki user like him.
Brady roared, clearly very angry. He looked at the vast expanse of ruins around him; this was a direct insult. He had been king for a long time since returning from his voyages, and despite rarely managing affairs, he still possessed the aura of someone in a high position. This was the first time such a thing had happened.
Brady knew Kaido; he was a monster, very strong, stronger than him, but he wasn't afraid because he was a Devil Fruit user.
"You are the king of this country, aren't you? I don't know your name, but your ability makes me very uncomfortable, as does your title." Kaido, transformed into a divine dragon, his voice extremely loud, echoed through the heavens and earth. "So, you die."
As soon as he finished speaking, Kaido's massive body plummeted from the sky towards the royal palace. With such a huge monster charging down, the royal palace would be reduced to ruins in no time.
"Hurry, we can't stay in the palace!" The First Prince, protected by guards, left the palace. His palace was near the outer perimeter of the royal palace, and although it was affected, there was no significant damage.
The other two princes were the same; they all fled from the royal palace. They couldn't intervene in this kind of battle; sending anyone in would be suicide. However, the outcome of this battle would likely affect the future of the country. They all watched the unfolding battle, which was also a great learning experience for them.
The First Prince arranged for guards to maintain order in the royal city, preventing further panic. Everyone was quickly fleeing the royal city. Leaving the city would be safer. Staying here might mean getting caught in the ensuing battle and dying without even knowing how.
There was a precedent for this. Several years ago, a pirate crew, after robbing a small town on the border of the Kate Kingdom, was not satisfied and wanted more, so they headed for the royal city. The battle took place in the wilderness outside the royal city. The royal palace had dispersed some people to avoid friendly fire. Because of the King's ability, the subdued beasts charged directly into the wilderness to eliminate the invading pirates. Along the way, countless houses were destroyed by the beasts, and many people were accidentally injured or directly trampled to death by them.
Although these beasts obeyed the King's orders, their true nature wouldn't change. They didn't care about the lives of ordinary people. This incident passed, but it remained in the minds of the royal city residents.
Now, another powerful enemy had arrived and directly attacked the royal palace. The entire royal city would become their battlefield, and the King's beast army would appear again.
"Damn it!" King Brady's face was grim. He couldn't withstand such a powerful impact and quickly leaped to dodge. At the same time, he activated his ability, constantly transmitting commands to the powerful beasts in the Beast Paradise.
"Roar!" "Roar!" With roars, from afar, giant beasts could be seen running towards them.
"Wow! This is huge news!" In the shadows, a News Bird flew in the air. However, unlike other News Birds, this one had an Image Den Den Mushi hanging from its neck. This was a reporter bird that constantly flew between islands across the sea, searching for big news and recording it. The creatures in this world had high intelligence, so simple tasks like this were not a problem for the News Bird.
The images were transmitted directly to the World Economic News headquarters via the Den Den Mushi. At the headquarters of the World Economic News, an albatross wearing a tuxedo and a top hat looked at the received images with excitement.
This was Morgans, the Vice President of the World Economic News, one of the future giants of the dark world.
Morgans was extremely excited. He immediately located the reporter bird and sent a message through a small Den Den Mushi: "This is big news! Film it well. If you do a good job, I'll give you a big bonus when you return!"
Hearing Morgans' words, the reporter bird became excited, its image trembling slightly. It grew even more serious, thinking of the huge bonus that would allow it to keep several pretty female birds in the future, living a beautiful and happy life – it wasn't a dream.
Then, Morgans, holding the recording, excitedly rushed into the president's office where the newspaper's president stayed. "President, President, I've got big news!"
He was an old man, nearly sixty, with hair already showing streaks of white. Wearing glasses, he sat calmly at his desk and admonished the rushing bird, "Morgans, you need to be calm. You're my successor; no news should make us lose our composure."
"Yes, you are right to admonish me, President." Hearing the president's words, Morgans came to his senses, stood up straight, bent over, and bowed deeply.
"Alright, what news is it? Bring it here and let me see." The old president was very satisfied with Morgans' attitude. He nodded and said to Morgans, "Okay, it's this recording, the battle that took place on Pet Island in the New World." Morgans handed the recording Den Den Mushi in his hand to the old president. The old president took the recording Den Den Mushi, very calmly, and as he opened the recording to watch, his eyes suddenly lit up.
He suddenly stood up from his seat, his eyes shining. "Big news, big news! The battle between the King of the Kate Kingdom and Kaido of the Beasts!"
"I've already thought of the headline: 'War Between Beast King and Beast King'," the old president chuckled. He looked at Morgans, who was still stunned, "What are you standing around for? Go notify the others. Put down whatever you're doing and let's all gather for a meeting about this news."
"Okay, okay." Morgans finally reacted, but inwardly he grumbled, What happened to being calm? My situation is much better than yours. Still, he quickened his pace.
The newspaper agency was highly efficient. Soon, everyone gathered. The recording Den Den Mushi was playing, and the news workers below were instructed, "Gather all the intel on Kaido and Pet Island, then analyze the cause of the war. The rest of you, hurry up and write your drafts, describe this battle vividly. This is huge news! The Kate Kingdom is a powerful nation, paying a lot of Celestial Gold annually. The Marines will surely not be idle. Tomorrow's headline will be this news. Everyone, get to work!" Although the old president was old, he was very energetic, and the passion of every worker was ignited.
