A Challenge from Huolin Nana

Watching Huolin Nana disappear into the night, they remembered how she had swept through several thousand Star-Sucking Monsters near the shelter like a tigress just before leaving.

Meng Bao and the several hundred Super Martial Artists on the wall were all dumbfounded.

She looked so sexy and beautiful, yet her personality was unbelievably fierce and hot-tempered.

"Good grief, she's so strong."

Scarlet Emperor returned and swallowed hard.

"Is she going to pick a fight with Big Brother Black Dragon?" Meng Bao asked doubtfully.

"If she really goes to fight Boss Gu, she might get her butt kicked. I'd love to go watch."

By the end, Scarlet Emperor was eager to go and see for himself.

"Forget it! Big Brother Black Dragon will definitely beat her."

Meng Bao had absolute confidence in Gu Qijue. "Let's go back and get some sleep. I haven't slept in almost two days. I'm exhausted!"

"Same here. I could use a good night's sleep."

Scarlet Emperor nodded and left with Meng Bao.

Seeing them go, the other Super Martial Artists dispersed as well.

But things were much more tense over by Old Turtle.

It roared angrily, "Who was that human woman? Why would she help Black Dragon Emperor's subordinate? Is she trying to destroy Star Blue Continent alongside Black Dragon Emperor?"

"This... How did the deputy hallmaster of the War God Group in the Snow Bear Empire end up in Yun City? And why did she help them..."

The old man, Li Hunyan, naturally recognized Huolin Nana. Even he was surprised.

"You humans... honestly... even with disaster staring you in the face, you're still scheming against each other..."

Old Turtle truly couldn't bring itself to hope for humanity anymore.

It was utterly disappointed.

"I can't offer you anything here. If you need something, talk to President Chu."

Li Hunyan tossed Old Turtle a phone. "And don't come here to complain again. There's really nothing we can do."

Old Turtle took the phone. "Show me how to use it first."

It had no idea how to use human technology.

Li Hunyan nodded and patiently walked it through the steps.

A little over ten minutes later, Old Turtle had roughly figured out how to use the phone. The first thing it did was call Chu Yuan.

"Who is this?"

A little over ten seconds later, Chu Yuan's authoritative voice came through.

It was his private number, known to very few people, so he usually answered calls from unfamiliar numbers.

"Hello, President Chu. I'm the turtle who contacted you before."

"So it's you. Humans are too busy scheming against one another to ever unite. I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you."

"I am disappointed, but at least I've managed to enlist three senior beings from the deep sea. They'll come ashore within a month and launch a decisive strike against Black Dragon Emperor."

"That's certainly good news."

"Yes. I'd like to ask you to test Gu Qijue's current strength. Would you be willing to step in, President Chu?"

Only now did Old Turtle explain why it had called.

The other end fell silent for a moment before Chu Yuan replied, "Well... all right. I'll meet him in person tomorrow at noon!"

Listening to their conversation, Li Hunyan couldn't help interjecting, "President Chu, think carefully. Huolin Nana is there too!"

Chu Yuan's voice came through, surprised and somewhat wary. "What did you say? Why is she in Yun City?"

But that had been two or three years ago.

He wasn't afraid of facing her now.

Li Hunyan said, "I'm not sure. The two Calamity-tier beast emperors Senior Turtle brought over just now were there, and Huolin Nana blew one of them apart with a single punch..."

"Oroska isn't there, is he?" Chu Yuan asked nervously.

If he went to Yun City and ran into Oroska, he might get knocked down with a single slap.

Even at the peak of the Great Grandmaster level, he couldn't claim he'd be able to beat the former president of the War God Group.

Besides, Oroska had surely taken plenty of Mutation Fruits to break through his limits.

"Are you scared, President Chu?" Old Turtle asked with a frown.

"I admit I'm scared. There are powerful beings in the deep sea, and there are powerful people among us humans, too. The War God Group's president stands at the pinnacle of human martial strength. He's among the very strongest of us. I can only be considered part of the second tier."

Chu Yuan didn't try to save face. He spoke frankly.

"Then do you still dare to test Black Dragon Emperor?" Old Turtle challenged him.

"Forget it. I'll head to Dragon Cloud Mountain tonight and see if I can persuade one of those old monsters to come out. I'll see you in Yun City tomorrow."

With that, Chu Yuan ended the call.

Old Turtle left as well, heading for Yun City.

Meanwhile, above the Main Star-Sucking Tree in the center of Yun City, Gu Qijue continued controlling the dragon souls, devouring the Star-Sucking Monsters a few at a time.

Boom! Rumble—

But just then,

a tremendous, immensely powerful gust of punching force suddenly swept toward Gu Qijue from behind.

With a bang, his clothes burst apart.

The Twin Dragons roared as they shot out from his back, spitting lightning as they lunged at the swiftly approaching red figure.

With a thunderous boom, Gu Qijue didn't move an inch. The red figure, however, was sent crashing to the ground, where she smashed a huge crater into the earth.

"Good! This is the Undying War God I've always believed in!"

Huolin Nana, knocked to the ground, showed no fear. Instead, her fighting spirit blazed.

With a roar, she activated every one of her Super Cells, unleashing a terrifying wave of heat from her body.

Then she shot back into the sky. Flames surged around her crystal-white fist, burning so hot that the air itself caught fire. Like a meteor shooting upward, she slammed toward Gu Qijue.

Watching Huolin Nana charge in with such momentum, Gu Qijue remained calm. In the next instant, he crackled into a bolt of lightning and shifted in front of her.

He raised his hand.

In his palm,

a ball of lightning gathered.

He met her attack head-on!!

Boom!!

A deafening explosion rang through the sky.

The collision of lightning and flames shone brilliantly, lighting up the entire night sky.

With a bang,

the flames around Huolin Nana went out. She realized in shock that she'd crashed into an immovable mountain, only for a tremendous force beyond her ability to withstand to rebound against her and send her straight into the ground. She smashed a crater hundreds of meters across.

Pfft—

Huolin Nana dropped to one knee. No longer able to suppress the churning blood in her body, she spat out a mouthful of blood, then burst into laughter. "Good! Amazing! It's been so long since I've had this much fun."

"Are you the deputy president of the War God Group?"

With a flash of lightning, Gu Qijue appeared in front of her as if he had teleported.

"That's right. You can call me Nana!"

Huolin Nana wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, then gazed at Gu Qijue with shining eyes.
