"Forget it. You look pretty out of it, so I won't make this difficult for you."
Seeing that the other guy had gone completely blank, Lü Qinglong finally let go. It wasn't like he had anything to lose.
The young man hit the ground with a smack, landing on his rear and nearly flipping over backward.
Only then did he realize what kind of monster was standing in front of him.
He was practically the Hulk in the flesh!
The guy's arms were more than twice as thick as his thighs! Was he even human?
Even Thanos would probably have to take a few slaps from him before he could get away.
"Call your insurance company yourself. Just say an ant gave your car a shoulder throw while it was driving down the road, and it crashed into the tree up ahead. Then it landed on its rear and ended up like this."
"I've memorized your license plate, so don't even think about running."
Lü Qinglong glanced at the trunk of the F426, which had been crushed almost all the way into the back seats, and suddenly came up with an idea.
At least this way, they wouldn't be late for dinner at Shunshui Tower.
"Bro! No problem! I'll call the insurance company right away! I... I'll do whatever you say!"
At Lü Qinglong's words, the young man nearly prostrated himself before him. He nodded repeatedly, looking nothing like the arrogant guy he'd been moments ago.
"Alright, I'm leaving. And don't wear that F426 hoodie anymore. It's creepy."
Muttering under his breath, Lü Qinglong turned and got back into the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.
"What did you tell him, Brother Qinglong?"
As soon as he got in, he saw that Lin Qinghan looked a little disappointed. Clearly, she hadn't seen the scene she'd hoped for.
"It's fine. No need to call Uncle Chen. I handled it."
"The other guy got shoulder-thrown by an ant, so he's fully at fault. We can go."
After he finished speaking, Lü Qinglong started the car and drove toward Shunshui Tower.
The whole thing had taken less than five minutes.
So by the time he parked outside the restaurant, it was only six in the evening.
When the two got out, they startled the greeters at the entrance.
They watched the two disappear from sight as they headed for the elevator, then said, still shaken:
"What was that? Beauty and the Beast in real life?"
"Brother Cheng! You're going off to the army tomorrow. Shouldn't we have a few drinks to celebrate today?"
"Exactly! Brother Cheng, you even got the latest Apple iPhone? You're loaded!"
The guys sitting around Cheng Liang, all friends he usually hung out with, looked at him enviously.
There were three tables in the private room, each with seven or eight people seated around it. They all looked to be about eighteen, both boys and girls.
It looked like almost the whole class had turned up.
Apart from a few classmates who had started university early, everyone else was here.
"It's nothing, just the latest phone. My dad said that if I served in the army for two years, it'd offset two years of taxes for the family. When I came back, he'd buy me a BMW 3 Series."
As Cheng Liang said this, he lifted his chin, looking utterly smug.
Most of their classmates came from ordinary families. Hearing that Cheng Liang could casually get himself a BMW 3 Series made them even more envious.
A few of them hadn't done well on the college entrance exams and knew they probably wouldn't find good jobs after graduation. With an opportunity right in front of them, they eagerly sucked up to Cheng Liang.
"A BMW 3 Series! A BBA! Who else our age can match Brother Cheng's achievements? That's so cool!"
"Don't call him Brother Cheng. Call him Mr. Cheng from now on! He's still thinking of serving in the army to defend the country. Now that's what you call having vision!"
The boys kept piling on the praise, and a pleased smile spread across Cheng Liang's face. He was clearly enjoying it.
"Is everyone here? If so, the waitstaff can start bringing out the dishes."
Cheng Liang waved a hand and called out to everyone.
"Um, I don't think Lin the Campus Belle is here yet."
A girl at the next table spoke up quietly.
Her voice wasn't loud, but the room had been fairly quiet, so everyone heard her.
The private room fell silent.
They all knew Cheng Liang had liked Lin Qinghan since they started high school—and that Lü Qinglong had beaten him to a pulp.
It was one of Cheng Liang's most embarrassing memories, and everyone had silently agreed not to bring it up again.
Yet someone had just blurted it out without thinking.
"Lin the Campus Belle's at Tsinghua University, and their term starts early, right? Maybe she's already gone to register. Why worry about it?"
One of the guys sitting next to Cheng Liang spoke up, easing the awkward tension.
"Oh, right."
The girl nodded and muttered softly.
The room soon returned to its earlier liveliness, though Cheng Liang's expression was clearly not as cheerful as before.
"Knock, knock, knock!"
Just as everyone was chatting and laughing, someone pounded hard on the private room door.
The boy sitting closest to it assumed it was a clueless waiter bringing food. Looking annoyed, he got up and shoved the door open.
But the first thing he saw was a white tank top, with clearly defined, explosive muscles visible beneath it.
His gaze traveled upward. The moment he saw a face more terrifying than a murderer's, he dropped onto his rear in fright.
He'd seen Lü Qinglong every day throughout high school, but after two months apart, seeing him again still gave him a huge shock.
"Everyone's here? Long time no see!"
Lü Qinglong grinned and greeted the classmates inside.
But nobody looked pleased. Clearly, none of them had expected Lü Qinglong to show up too.
Cheng Liang looked especially glum, but as the host, he couldn't very well say anything.
"The roast pigeons at Shunshui Tower are especially good. My dad used to bring me here to eat all the time."
Lin Qinghan stepped out from behind Lü Qinglong, a faint smile on her face.
"Really? Then eat plenty today, Qinghan."
As he spoke, Lü Qinglong walked over to the nearest table and pulled out a chair for Lin Qinghan. He had to push two chairs together before he could squeeze into them himself.
The other students at the table didn't dare say a word. They all lowered their heads and furiously messaged in the class QQ group:
"Seriously! Why is that monster Lü Qinglong here to eat with us? What are we supposed to eat now that he's here?"
"No idea. We clearly blocked him. How did he find out we were eating here?"
"Maybe Lin the Campus Belle brought him along. Did you guys block her?"
"No..."
Cheng Liang looked at Lü Qinglong, sitting at the table farthest from him, and let out a sigh of relief.
At least the guy hadn't sat at his table. Otherwise, even eating would've been uncomfortable.
He could let Lü Qinglong freeload for one meal. It wasn't like he couldn't afford to treat him. He should still have enough pocket money.
Thinking that, Cheng Liang relaxed a little.
