Background / History

The Lu Family was formerly a renowned immortal cultivation family of Qingzhou’s Taiyue Prefecture. Its main lineage possessed a hereditary potential to become Lightning Cultivators, but the rarity of Lightning Spiritual Roots left the clan with too few successors. Its overreliance on this single inheritance contributed to its decline and eventual absorption by other cultivation families. 156 170

Lu Hu—originally Lu Huanghu—was the eldest son of the old main line but could not awaken his talent. Before the family’s fall, he dispersed Lu Family mortals to various settlements to preserve the bloodline; Xia’ao Town became one such refuge. 156 180

Later revelations identify the family’s distant ancestors as descendants of Mo Race royalty who fled to the Canglan Continent as spies. Over time, they came to identify with Canglan and guarded the passage between the Demon Realm and Canglan. Their discovery of the Nine Heavens Imperial Lightning True Scripture ultimately attracted disaster and led to the old family’s destruction. 372

Lu Wanyuan began rebuilding the line after being driven from Green Bamboo Peak with his siblings. He adopted the “Wan” generation name, declared himself the founding ancestor, and established the Lu Family as a new cultivation clan centered on unity, survival, development, and eventual revenge. 3 22 23

The family later recalled dispersed Lu-blooded mortals, tested them for Spiritual Roots, and moved qualified Immortal Seedlings to Cui Mountain. Five of the first twenty selected youths possessed notably strong qualifications, including sword-path and Lightning Spiritual Root potential. 180 188

Generational System

Lu Wanyuan established the Immortal Clan genealogy to regulate seniority and distinguish cultivators from the broader mortal Lu population. 3 206

Wan Gu Chang Liu, Ri Yue Xing Chen, Yu Zhou Hong Huang, Jiu Shi Yong Cun, Zhu Dao Xiu Xian
“Ten Thousand Ancient Rivers Flowing, Sun Moon Stars Shining, Universe Vast and Boundless, Long Ages Eternal, Pursuing the Dao to Cultivate Immortality.” 206

  • Immortal Clan generational names are reserved for Lu descendants confirmed to possess Spiritual Roots. 206
  • Descendants without Spiritual Roots are removed from the Immortal Clan registry and returned to the mortal Lu naming registry. 206
  • The early core line includes the Wan generation, followed by the Gu and Chang generations. 206
  • Lu Wanyuan initially used the system to rename his siblings, including Lu Shan as Lu Wanshan, Lu He as Lu Wanhe, and Lu Ting as Lu Wanting. 22 23

Cultivation & Legacy

Nine Heavens Imperial Lightning True Scripture

The Nine Heavens Imperial Lightning True Scripture is the Lu Family’s defining inheritance. It requires a Lightning Spiritual Root and a lightning-rich cultivation environment, making it exceptionally difficult to pass down. 170 173

  • The old Lu Family’s inability to produce enough Lightning Spiritual Root holders was a major cause of its decline. 170
  • Lu Wanyuan used six Lightning Spiritual Root attributes to create a group of Lightning Cultivators in Lightning Valley. 192
  • The initial Lightning Cultivator group included Lu Wanyuan, Baili Qiuyue, Lu Wanhe, Lu Gulei, Lu Gucang, Lu Gucui, Lu Gutian, and Lu Guxuan. 192
  • These cultivators functioned as the family’s concealed elite combat force in Luling Prefecture. 210

Mo Race Bloodline

The Lu Family possesses a bloodline connected to the Mo Race, a fact that repeatedly exposes it to suspicion and political hostility. 292

  • According to Lu Yuanshan, the family’s ancestors were Mo Race spies whose bloodline was refined over generations through the Nine Heavens Imperial Lightning True Scripture. 292
  • The bloodline grants unusual physical strength to some disciples. 299
  • It also has a natural suppressive effect on the Mo Race, becoming a crucial advantage during demonic crises. 299
  • Lu Guzhao and Lu Guyan later awaken increasingly powerful Mo Race bloodline abilities while fighting the Mo Race. 382

Hundred Arts

Lu Wanyuan treats the hundred arts as a permanent foundation for the family rather than optional side pursuits. 116 128

  • Every disciple is expected to develop at least one auxiliary profession to earn Spirit Stones and support cultivation. 128
  • Major fields include pill refining, artifact refining, Spirit Talisman crafting, spirit planting, beast taming, and Formation Arrays. 23 128
  • The family preserves backups of important cultivation methods and inheritances in separate locations to prevent total loss. 157
  • The Artifact Refining Hall later adopts a standardized production model, allowing the family to mass-produce affordable Magic Tools and Spirit Tools. 386

Family Legacy Development

The family continually incorporates new resources, inheritances, and combat insights into its cultivation system.

  • The Domain Lord legacy strengthens multiple core members after the collapse of a legacy ruin. 466
  • The Star Spirit Mine improves cultivation efficiency and enables new spell variations, leading Lu Wanyuan to compile the Star Legacy Record. 501
  • The family divides its inheritance into specialized branches, including magical-treasure refining, spell research, and Formation Array research. 531
  • Advanced spiritual cultivation academies provide personalized education, practical training grounds, libraries, and cultivation rooms. 549

Infrastructure and Assets

  • Cui Tower — Main headquarters and family decision-making center on Cui Mountain. 206
  • Family Treasury and Scripture Repository — Stores cultivation methods, inheritances, resources, and duplicated records. 157 206
  • Spirit fields, immortal gardens, workshops, and shops — Produce spirit herbs, spirit grains, pills, and magical treasures for internal use and trade. 382 534
  • Spirit mines — Supply Spirit Crystals and ores for artifact refining, trade, and cultivation. 382 501
