Lu Guzhao first appears during Lu Guyan's investigation into the Lu Family's bloodline and the Demon God's seal. While Lu Guyan and Su Wange search the Library Pavilion, Guzhao guards the entrance against interference. He then fights beside Guyan when Lu Family disciples attempt to seize them for violating clan rules. 321 322

He accompanies Lu Guyan, Su Wange, and Elder Lu Guzhen to the Northernmost Ice Lake. Though initially aware that his strength is insufficient to confront the corpse puppet directly, he remains alert for opportunities to support the group. He is later injured while attempting to assist against a high-level Demonic General. 324 326

While the group searches for Soul Returning Grass to save him, Guzhao's blood accidentally disrupts the herb's restriction, allowing Guyan to harvest it. After consuming the grass, Guzhao recovers and awakens the golden power within his Lu Family bloodline. 334 336

Lu Guzhao is fiercely loyal to his family and especially protective of Lu Guyan. He repeatedly places himself between his companions and danger, from shielding Su Wange during the journey north to defending Guyan and Qin Yi while they are wounded or exhausted. 322 341 363

When other cultivation forces demand the Lu Family's wartime gains, he suppresses his anger, opens negotiations, and simultaneously reinforces the family's defenses.
