The fleet, which had originally planned to return to Manros, prepared to travel to a set of coordinates after the Ragefang received them.
On the Judgement Day, Kampa drew up a navigation plan.
Whenever they traveled, Kampa was reminded of the Alliance Fleet's glaring shortcomings.
The Ragefang was the only ship capable of opening the Webway. The other ships had to travel alongside it, or the Webway would destroy them. Kampa had learned this by asking the Aeldari xenos named Cyrus about the Webway while he was still with the fleet.
The fleet could only go wherever it wanted in one huge, unwieldy mass of ships.
Still, there were ways to maximize efficiency within those limitations.
The target coordinates were set to a Forge World.
Kampa had no idea why there was a Forge World just eighty light-years from Manros, but he knew he only had to follow orders.
The Ragefang would lead the fleet through the Webway to the system containing the Forge World. They would leave behind the personnel and ships that were to stay there, then take the rest of the fleet to Manros for repairs before moving on to bring the system under their control and find home worlds for each Chapter.
If those left behind ever needed to be picked up, they could carry swords infused with shards of the Emperor Armor. The swords would emit light linking them to the others, and there were no restrictions on using them for this purpose.
After finishing the plan, Kampa ordered the fleet to set out.
The Ragefang opened the Webway entrance, and light spilled onto the Judgement Day's command deck.
The ships entered the Webway in an orderly formation.
Kampa was now in command of the entire Alliance Fleet.
It wasn't because of his high rank
