Background / History

During the Battle of Manros, Manros was a young psyker whose prophecies guided the resistance. He identified Manros as a living planetary entity, the Soul of Manros, and led Lu Jin to the hidden chamber containing a Saturnine Terminator Tactical Dreadnought modified by Vulkan. 48

After the battle, he took the name Manros after his homeworld. He underwent gene-seed implantation using gene-seed taken from the late Chapter Master Ninos, becoming one of the Fierce Angels' first new recruits. 56

Lu Jin appointed him Chief Librarian during the Chapter's Blood Feast. Though still under fourteen after augmentation, Manros became the Chapter's only psyker and grew into the force responsible for rebuilding its Librarian tradition. 61 123

As Chief Librarian, he learned to resonate with the Soul of Manros across interstellar distances, expanded his telekinetic and ritual abilities, and was trained by Salpedon, the Rune Priest Chapter Master, and later Spirit Seer Kaylarenath. 63 123 195

Appearance

Before augmentation, Manros was a scrawny thirteen-year-old boy. After receiving Ninos's gene-seed, he rapidly grew into an exceptionally robust Space Marine standing approximately 2.27 meters tall. 56 61

  • Often carries the Fierce Angels' relic scepter. 63 118
  • Has worn Terminator armor in battle. 203
  • His eyes can shine with golden or crimson psychic light while channeling major powers. 63 141

Personality

Manros is mature, dutiful, and unusually resolute for his age. He accepted the burden of becoming Chief Librarian without hesitation, despite being responsible for archival work, psychic training, and the reconstruction of the Fierce Angels' Librarian forces. 61 123

He is strongly devoted to Lu Jin and the people of Manros. His psychic connection to the planet is both a source of power and a central part of his identity. 48 63

He initially responds modestly to praise, but has steadily developed confidence in his prophetic and ritual abilities. 195

Abilities & Skills

Prophecy and Fate-Thread Interpretation

Manros possesses an innate gift for prophecy, originally receiving fragmented visions of future events and turning points in fate. 48 118 195

  • Learned from Kaylarenath to leave his soul and interpret Fate Threads beyond ordinary prophetic flashes. 195
  • Predicted Lu Jin's lone stand against an Ork Warlord during the Hive City evacuation. 118
  • Can perceive likely future casualties and battlefield outcomes. 141
  • His visions are not absolute guarantees and became harder to use as Lu Jin became involved in increasingly complex multi-faction conflicts. 195

Soul of Manros Resonance

Manros can psychically overlap his soul projection with the Warp projection of the sentient planet Manros, allowing him to draw upon its power even when far from the system. 63

  • Uses the Soul of Manros to amplify defensive and offensive psychic techniques. 63
  • Can communicate with the planetary consciousness; he is uniquely capable of doing so. 123
  • Channeled the collective psychic strength of worlds associated with Lu Jin during the ritual against Badab's Iron Halo. 141

Telekinesis and Psychic Combat

Manros is capable of large-scale telekinetic attacks and battlefield control. 118

  • Released a telekinetic shockwave that reduced Greenskins across a thirty-meter-long, ten-meter-wide area to fragments. 118
  • Can create psychic portals and transmit coordinates directly into the minds of company commanders. 132
  • Can freeze opponents' thoughts and restrain even Grey Knights with psychic power they cannot seize or counter. 184
  • Can erase memories on Lu Jin's command. 184
  • Healed the severely wounded Krogar through a psychic projection. 153

Ritual Leadership

Manros has developed from a prophetic child into a Librarian capable of leading major psychic operations. 141 153

  • Led the ritual that destroyed Badab's Iron Halo defense system after borrowing Lu Jin's battle axe as a psychic focus. 141
  • Directed allies to ritual nodes in order to stabilize the Navigation Tower. 153
  • Psychically bound the Fierce Angels' Librarians and company commanders to Lu Jin during the Hera campaign. 132

Resurrection Through Arcane Binding

Manros can return from death through the Eldar-derived binding arts used by Lu Jin's Librarians. 204

  • Was killed when his helmet and head exploded during the battle against the Disciple. 203
  • Resurrected afterward, explaining that bound Librarians cannot truly die as long as Lu Jin and those who believe in him remember them. 204
  • This resurrection is tied to faith, remembrance, and the emotional-spiritual connections established through the arcane binding. 204

Equipment

  • Fierce Angels relic scepter — Formerly used by Chapter Master Ninos; stores a portion of Ninos's soul and substantially amplifies Manros's psychic power. 48 63
  • Terminator armor — Worn during later combat operations. 203
  • Soul Spear — Took up the relic after Salpedon's death during the Battle of Badab. 152
