"What is this freak doing?"
When the frigate was struck by the Boarding Anchor, Abaddon and Perturabo, who had thought everything was settled and were heading for Alert Star's orbit, arrived at the edge of the hangar deck.
The two stood at the edge, watching the Cruiser.
The Boarding Anchor fired from its massive turret was embedded deep in the frigate's stern.
But the Boarding Anchor was not the focus of the Great Ravager and the Lord of Iron's attention. The focus was the person who appeared as a tiny black dot in their vision, whose outline they could barely make out.
When the frigate stopped advancing at full speed alongside the Cruiser and remained relatively stationary, it was slowly dragged toward the Cruiser. Then the dragging speed gradually increased.
Once the Cruiser could sail forward at a greater speed, the frigate was naturally dragged toward it even faster.
"Have your fleet attack it!"
Perturabo seemed to have calculated something. He no longer possessed the composed indifference he had shown after ascending to daemonhood, instead roaring an order at Abaddon.
Abaddon had come to the same conclusion.
After the order was issued, the surrounding ships that had been keeping their distance from the Cruiser gradually turned around—but they failed to fire even a single shot at it. The Ultramarines' assault fleet had drawn close to the surrounding warships amid the sacrifice of one friendly vessel after another, dragging them into exchanges of fire.
It was bad enough that no ships could come to support them. Worse still, the frigate's propulsion system suddenly gave a brief, shuddering gasp, and the torrents of energy it emitted flickered dozens of times within a single second.
In the end, the propulsion system completely failed.
Without the propulsion system's assistance, the frigate's speed as it
