"Ugh."
Mercer rubbed his forehead. When he looked out the window, a gigantic face seemed to appear right in front of him.
Just then, Garp's slightly sinister laugh rang out:
"Not bad! You managed to knock out half the people on my ship again."
"Why don't you come out and let me get a good look at you?"
Mercer calmly walked to the window, drew the curtains, and lit the beeswax candle in the chandelier.
Out of sight, out of mind.
From inside Karasu's feathers, Garp could no longer see into the castle. He pursed his lips, casually tossed the bird onto a nearby sofa, and muttered to himself:
"That brat needs a good thrashing. But it really was that spirit girl who released the Conqueror's Haki."
"Does she have that kind of potential, too?"
He couldn't figure it out. He really couldn't. Before long, he started to feel bored and left the room.
Mercer sat cross-legged on Perona's bed, crunching on rice crackers as he watched Perona sit up, looking aggrieved.
"Why are you looking so upset now?"
"I think I got into trouble again.
"But who knew they'd be so weak? They couldn't even withstand the Conqueror's Haki of a little girl like me."
Perona mumbled awkwardly.
Mercer: "..."
He was feeling a little worn out.
But all he could do was give her a simple explanation.
"Having a strong body doesn't mean you have a strong spirit. Do you think everyone's like you? You got lucky and ate a Devil Fruit that directly affects the spirit."
"But you weren't affected, Mercer. They really are a bunch of weaklings if they can't even beat a little kid."
Thump!
He rapped her on the forehead.
"Ow!"
"What gives you the right to talk about them when you got lucky?
