Perona sensed that something was off. Her eyes darted around, then she hurried over, kicked off her shoes, climbed onto the bed, and sat beside Mercer.
Leaning close to Mercer's ear, she whispered, "Why did you bring the tall guy here? Are you going to hand that woman, Nico Robin, over to the Marines?
Can't you just not hand her over? She's actually pretty nice."
"But I can't beat the tall guy. How about you sneak up on him with a ghost doll?" Mercer whispered back. "Then we'll sink him to the bottom of the sea."
"Wouldn't that be a little mean? The tall guy is kind of our friend, after all."
"Then what do you suggest?"
Mercer asked.
Perona thought for a moment. "Hmm, how about we get your Grandfather to come up here?"
"They're master and apprentice, and they're both Marines. They're on the same side."
"Then what do we do?" Perona anxiously bit the nail on her thumb. "I just don't want her to get caught!"
"By the way, Pepe, when did you two get so close? How come I didn't know?"
"Mercer, you know what? She knows so much. No matter what I ask, she can explain it to me. And her Devil Fruit power is really pretty, too.
