Chen Changan wasn't worried that these Rakshasas could hurt him.
But the problem was that he couldn't kill them all. That was a bit of a headache.
As Chen Changan slaughtered Rakshasas and pondered how to deal with the predicament, he suddenly noticed that the Rakshasas all around him seemed to have stopped.
Before Chen Changan could figure out what was happening, he saw the Rakshasas slowly retreat into the blood slurry, vanishing without a trace.
"Have they given up?"
The Rakshasas had appeared suddenly and disappeared just as suddenly. Chen Changan was utterly baffled; he had no idea what they were up to.
But with the obstacle blocking his way gone, Chen Changan planned to continue onward.
"Sword Master Lord, you... should you take a look at your current condition?"
Hongchen's voice suddenly entered Chen Changan's mind.
Chen Changan was taken aback, not quite understanding what Hongchen meant. A moment later, he noticed that his body was completely enveloped in a layer of red miasma.
The miasma clung tightly to Chen Changan's body, but it hadn't caused him any harm.
Chen Changan waved a hand, and a mirror formed from water appeared before him.
When he saw what he looked like, Chen Changan nearly cursed.
"How come I didn't feel a thing?"
"Did this turn me into a Rakshasa?"
"Did those Rakshasas suddenly disappear because they thought I was one of them, so they stopped attacking?"
Chen Changan now looked almost exactly like the Rakshasas from before.
The only difference was that Chen Changan merely resembled them because so much blood-red miasma clung to his body; he himself hadn't changed.
"Sword Master Lord, while you were killing the Rakshasas..."
"The more you killed, the more of this blood-red miasma gathered around you."
"Did you really not notice at all?"
