"A tavern?"
"Is it... really just a tavern?"
The first three trials had each taken place in a building that contained another space for the challenge.
But this trial really was just a tavern. What was the challenge supposed to be? How much they could drink?
"You're not planning to drink with me, are you?"
"That counts as a challenge?" Chen Changan asked with a frown.
"A friend from afar—"
"I'm your dad."
"A friend—"
"Your dad!"
"Your dad... Are you going to take the challenge or not?"
"Of course. Couldn't you just get to the point? You want to have a drink with Dad, right? Just say so."
"Y-yes... I mean, have a drink."
The man looked at Chen Changan helplessly, wishing he could slap himself for telling him to call him whatever he liked.
Whatever, indeed. With other people, it meant whatever. With Chen Changan, it damn well meant he was his son.
"So, my good son, this trial really is going easy on me, huh?"
"Go on, tell me how we're drinking. Dad will see it through to the end."
By now, the man had stopped caring what Chen Changan called him. Changing his mind didn't seem likely anyway.
"This trial is actually very simple. Compared to the challenges the others faced, mine is much easier."
"You just have to drink. This liquor is called Bury Heaven and Earth."
"What, you're trying to bury your dad?"
The man paid no attention to Chen Changan's teasing, ignoring him completely as he continued, "There isn't much. Just five jars."
"Once you've finished them, you'll have passed the challenge."
"Just drinking? There isn't even a dish to go with it?"
"Aren't you drinking?"
"I'll pass. It's pretty expensive, and I'm not worthy. You go ahead!"
Judging by the man's expression,
