As the Heavenly Profound Sect opened Elder Council recruitment, Chen Changan exposed conspirators, destroyed the Carefree Abode, and left for the Exquisite Grotto while a challenger arrived at the sect.

• Chen Changan led his companions into the Netherworld Mystic Realm, gathered resources from the River of Forgetfulness, and freed Xiao Hei from the barrier trapping him in a strange city.
• When the Carefree Abode, the Exquisite Grotto, and five other Lineages confronted his group, Chen Changan had Xiao Hei defeat them, seized their resources, and killed the cultivators who had threatened them.
• Chen Changan returned to the Heavenly Profound Sect and told Sect Master Qi that rival cultivators had died in the River of Forgetfulness, while the two grottoes later accused the sect without presenting proof.
• As the Heavenly Profound Sect prepared to recruit Elder Council members, Da Huang and Xiao Hei investigated the applicants and gave Chen Changan names of suspected spies and conspirators.
• Chen Changan defeated his first selection opponent with one sword, then exposed conspirators from the Carefree Abode and the Exquisite Grotto and killed more than thirty experts who were plotting to disrupt the matches.

Chen Changan led the Heavenly Profound Sect through a wave of territorial challenges, then traveled to the Netherworld Mystic Realm with Xiao Hei and recovered six pill formulas. He returned to begin refining pills, only to discover that the sect needed an Alchemy Furnace.

• Zhan Tian challenged the Heavenly Profound Sect, joined Da Huang in a fight, and was soundly defeated by Chen Changan before joining the sect.
• After Chen Changan destroyed the Carefree Abode and the Exquisite Grotto, the Heavenly Profound Sect claimed their territories and prepared for the upheaval that followed.
• Chen Changan confronted visiting factions, defeated the Tiger Roar Alliance and the Crusade Alliance, and set the sect on a territorial expansion campaign led by Mu Yunyao.
• Chen Changan traveled with Xiao Hei to the Netherworld Mystic Realm, where its guardian revealed that the realm had been transformed around Xiao Hei and offered access to its resources.
• Chen Changan found six pill formulas in a ruined alchemy sect and returned to learn that Mu Yunyao had seized five territories for the Heavenly Profound Sect.
• Chen Changan explained the six formulas to Qi Sect Master and tried to refine a Profound Origin Pill, but Gou Sheng’s Upgraded Annihilation Fire could not process the ingredients without an Alchemy Furnace.

Chen Changan obtained an Alchemy Furnace from the Fallen Land and strengthened the Heavenly Profound Sect with pills before traveling to Heavenly Dao City. There, Su Tiandao led the gathered factions into the Demon Abyss, where Guardians warned that their presence could hasten the Devil Race’s revival, while Chen Changan suspected everyone was concealing the abyss’s true secret.

• Hongchen revealed that she came from Ultimate Heaven and guided Chen Changan to seek an Alchemy Furnace in the Fallen Land, where he defeated a Hua Household group and found a furnace after absorbing Sword Force from sword souls.
• Chen Changan returned to the Heavenly Profound Sect, refined pills with Gou Sheng, and helped strengthen the sect before setting out for Heavenly Dao City’s Flower-Viewing Gathering.
• On the journey, a fleeing Youth warned Chen Changan that the gathering was a trap tied to the Demon Abyss, and Chen Changan chose to investigate despite suspecting the Youth might be part of a scheme.
• At Heavenly Dao City, Chen Changan’s group drew attention from Qian Lai and clashed with the Sacred Spear Sect before Su Tiandao invited them to explore the Demon Abyss alongside the other factions.
• Su Tiandao announced the Demon Flower at the gathering and led the factions to the Demon Abyss, where Chen Changan suspected the city lord had not discovered it by chance.
• Inside the abyss, the group found a ruined city whose Human Race inhabitants revealed that they were Guardians watching over imprisoned Devils and warned that intruders could weaken the seals.
• Su Tiandao offered to help reinforce the seal in exchange for the abyss’s resources, while Da Huang and Chen Changan suspected both Su Tiandao and the Guardians were hiding the promised secret.

Chen Changan uncovered Su Tiandao and the Guardians’ plan to revive a Devil remnant soul, then kept the surviving remnant hidden while returning to the Heavenly Profound Sect. After the sect drew the Alchemist Alliance’s attention, Chen Changan joined its branch, where he prepared for the ranking assessment and helped Zhan Kuang improve his alchemy.

• Chen Changan and Mu Yunyao fought Blood Demons, found Demon-Suppressing Stones, and concluded the Guardians had deceived the factions about the formation cores.
• Chen Changan reunited the scattered factions and confronted Su Tiandao and the Guardians, who revealed their plan to sacrifice outsiders and restore a sealed Devil remnant soul.
• The Devil remnant devoured Su Tiandao and the Guardians, then told Chen Changan about the Demon-Extermination War and the secret art that let Devils hide their souls.
• Chen Changan let Mu Yunyao lead the survivors out, hid the remnant soul, and emerged later, asking the survivors to keep the Devil’s presence secret and support the Heavenly Profound Sect.
