Background / History

Yun Ming sought out Yun Mu after sensing the child's exceptional Martial Souls, the Sword of Life and Tree of Destruction. Suspecting a connection to the vanished God Realm, he offered Yun Mu discipleship and promised that he could remain with Tang Ziran and Lang Yue until entering Shrek Academy at twelve. He also gave Yun Mu an inner-disciple emblem and Shrek communication device. 7

He repeatedly supported Yun Mu's upbringing, visiting the Tang household with resources and precious ingredients. He gave Yun Mu a Soul Bone, though Yun Mu's body rejected it as pollution. 9 Yun Ming later brought Yun Mu to Sea God Island in hopes of aiding his growth, but immediately removed him after the Golden Ancient Tree's life energy worsened the imbalance between Yun Mu's Life and Destruction attributes. 10 11

As Yun Mu grew, Yun Ming became an openly protective mentor. He arranged inner-court instruction, selected Ye Xinglan and Xu Lizhi as companions, and encouraged Yun Mu not to reveal all of his strength in class. 58 He also convened the Sea God Pavilion to secretly reinforce Shrek Academy against Evil Soul Masters. 81

Yun Ming eventually entered Yun Mu's independent small plane, where its divine environment allowed him to break past level 99 and attain god-level strength. 211 After returning from the Abyssal Plane, he resolved to transfer the position of Sea God Pavilion Master to Yun Mu. 265

Yun Ming is calm, confident, and extraordinarily protective of Yun Mu. He recognizes Yun Mu's potential without demanding that he abandon his adoptive family, and his concern often resembles that of a doting father rather than a distant master. 7 58 80

He warns Yun Mu not to publicly show hostility toward the Tang Sect, urges him to conceal some of his abilities at Shrek, and intervenes decisively when threats arise. 15 58 80 Despite his status, he accommodates Yun Mu's childish requests for rest and travel when he believes the boy has been pushed too hard. 58
