Kiyomi smiled.

"You too."

They looked at each other and smiled.

After returning to the village, Kawaki and Boruto were taken to the hospital.

Kiyomi went with them.

She sat on a chair outside the hospital room, waiting for the doctor's diagnosis.

"Kiyomi." Naruto walked over.

"Uncle Naruto." Kiyomi stood up.

"Thanks for all your hard work," Naruto said. "We couldn't have done it without you today."

"It was nothing," Kiyomi said. "Kawaki's my friend."

Naruto smiled.

"You're just like Boruto," he said. "You both care a lot about your comrades."

Kiyomi lowered her head.

"Uncle Naruto, I have a question."

"What is it?"

"Boruto's Kāma..." Kiyomi said. "When did he get it?"

Naruto's expression turned serious.

"A long time ago," he said. "During the fight against Momoshiki."

"Momoshiki?"

"Ōtsutsuki Momoshiki," Naruto said. "A very powerful enemy."

Kiyomi froze.

"Ōtsutsuki..."

"That's right," Naruto said. "The Kāma is the power of the Ōtsutsuki Clan."

"Then Boruto..."

"Boruto will be fine," Naruto said. "I'll protect him."

Kiyomi nodded.

Just then, the doctor came out.

"Lord Hokage," the doctor said. "Neither patient is in serious danger."

"That's a relief." Naruto let out a breath.

"But they'll need to rest for a few days," the doctor said. "Their bodies are completely exhausted."

"I understand," Naruto said.

After the doctor left, Kiyomi went into the hospital room.

Kawaki and Boruto were lying in bed, both asleep.

Kiyomi sat down on the chair beside Kawaki.

"Idiot," she whispered. "Don't be so reckless next time."

Kawaki didn't react.

Kiyomi gazed at his face.

"I'll get stronger," she said. "Strong enough to protect you."

She stood up and left the room.

Outside, Sasuke was waiting for her.

"Teacher Sasuke."

"Let's go," Sasuke said. "I'll walk you home."

They walked along the village streets.

It was already very late.
