Background / History

As a child, Sasuke trained obsessively to close the gap between himself and his celebrated brother Itachi. Jin's teasing and superior skill intensified his pride and competitive nature; after Jin pinned him with shuriken without injuring him, Sasuke was left shocked but more determined to improve 9.

He became interested in Jin's strength and agreed to train with him. Sasuke also declared his ambition to become Hokage, though Fugaku disapproved of both that goal and Sasuke's unusual attempts to become stronger, including sunbathing and chasing dogs 17 18. Fugaku later began teaching him chakra refinement, while Sasuke struggled with the Great Fireball Technique under the pressure of Itachi's and Jin's extraordinary talent 20 21.
