The Secret of the Book of Seals

The three of them continued working.

It was almost dawn when Naruto and Sasuke returned.

"How did it go?" Kiyomi hurried over.

Naruto shook his head. "We were too late. The Book of Seals has been taken."

Kiyomi's heart sank.

"What do we do now?"

"First, we repair the village," Naruto said. "Then we find a way to locate Kara's base."

Sasuke looked at Kiyomi. "You did well today."

"Thank you," Kiyomi said. "But it wasn't enough."

"It will be," Sasuke said. "Keep working hard."

Kiyomi nodded.

Over the next few days, the village was under repair.

Kiyomi and the others helped, too.

They carried supplies, cleared rubble, and cared for the injured...

It was exhausting, but no one complained.

A week later, the village had mostly recovered.

Naruto called all the Jonin to a meeting.

"Kara has obtained the Book of Seals," he said. "They could revive Jigen at any moment."

The conference room fell silent.

"We have to find them before that happens," Naruto continued. "Does the intelligence department have any leads?"

Shikamaru stood up. "We have a few."

He unfolded a map.

"Based on our investigations so far, Kara's base could be in one of these three places."

He pointed to three spots on the map.

"The first is a cave on the border of the Land of Fire."

"The second is beneath the sea in the Land of Water."

"The third is in the snowy mountains of the Land of Lightning."

Naruto studied the map. "We need to investigate all three."

"I'll go to the Land of Fire," Sasuke said.

"I'll go to the Land of Water," Kakashi said.

"Then I'll go to the Land of Lightning," Naruto said.

After the meeting, Kiyomi found Sasuke.

"Teacher Sasuke."

"Hmm?"

"I want to go with you."
