Ever since the twelfth rhythm, "Abiding," had taken shape, the Gap Net had no longer been merely a tool for sensing and connection. It had begun to trace backward. Following the veins of the Omni-Dimensional Symbiotic Net, it reached all the way back to before the birth of chakra, to the moment The Void first opened. Countless fragments buried by the ages were now pouring into his consciousness along the streams of light.
"There's something... at the very deepest point." Mitsuki opened his eyes. Pale golden patterns shimmered within them—marks that belonged neither to Sage Art nor to the Gap Net, but were far more ancient. "Not a living being, not a dimension. A memory that was deliberately sealed away."
Sarada hurried over at the sound. Her Eternal Mangekyo gazed along the returning light of the Gap Net, but she saw only chaos. In the depths of that chaos was a weak yet constant glow, like a sleeping seed hidden at the starting point of all dimensions.
"Chakra did not appear out of nothing." Sarada spoke softly. "In the legends left by the Sage of Six Paths, there was only the God Tree, only the struggle over chakra. But they never said where chakra came from."
Boruto stepped along the Light Patterns and leaped onto the tower's summit, his Jōgan fully open, twelve-colored rhythms flowing through the depths of his eye. He looked toward that light
