Arc 27The God’s Vessel
Boruto left the Leaf to challenge the Ōtsutsuki main family, survived its trials, and learned to control Isshiki’s power by making a pact with him. In the Sea Country, Boruto discovered that Yamada had drawn him into a plan to awaken the Ōtsutsuki God, and he faced a worsening crisis that could consume Shiki’s consciousness.
- Boruto left Kiyomi, Kota, and the Leaf, then traveled with Tsukihime to the Ōtsutsuki main family’s realm and defeated Oni in the arena, losing his right arm.
- Boruto entered the Despair Forest to save Tsukihime’s cousin Tsukine and the condemned civilians, then killed hunters and accepted advancement from Yamada despite learning the Karma Seal could consume him.
- Boruto and Sarada discovered the maze was an Ōtsutsuki testing facility, and Yamada revealed that he planned to resurrect Isshiki, and Boruto passed the Tower trial and escaped the collapsing maze.
- Naruto trained Boruto to resist Isshiki, but Boruto instead made a pact to share power and consciousness with him, bringing Isshiki’s influence under control.
- Yamada revealed that he had altered Boruto’s genes before birth and led Boruto, Naruto, and Sarada to the Ōtsutsuki God’s tomb in search of an antidote.
- Boruto learned from the Guardian that the Ōtsutsuki God had shaped his birth and the Shinobi World, then confronted Yamada over his plan to connect the God’s core to a vessel.
- Yamada admitted that a human vessel would lose its independent consciousness, and Boruto considered whether Shiki could serve as the medium instead.
- Boruto learned the core was deteriorating and could not be safely stopped once activated, then sent Naruto away because his chakra would accelerate the collapse.
