"Chi-Chi, Kakarot, Bulma just explained what a God of Destruction is. You should understand my duties by now, right?" Gran asked again.

Goku and Chi-Chi nodded vigorously. According to Bulma's explanation, a God of Destruction was a Deity who governed destruction within a universe.

"We are Deities who stand above all others. To us, crises in the universe are merely factors that drive its development, so we will not interfere. The lives and deaths of mortals mean nothing to us."

Gran carried Little Gohan and walked outside.

Goku and Chi-Chi followed closely behind, growing more alarmed with every word.

"Chi-Chi, let me tell you another cruel fact. What if some cosmic crises were caused by Deities like us? What would you do then?"

"Big Brother Gran, what do you mean? Could you really create a crisis for the universe?"

Chi-Chi had yet to become the worn-down, sallow-faced housewife tortured by life. She was still young, and her way of thinking had not yet solidified. Hearing Gran's words, her heart wavered.

"I could."

Gran stepped outside. He first glanced at Whis, then pointed a finger at the ground. "If a God of Destruction is in a bad mood, this could be the result."

A white beam shot from Gran's fingertip. Whis's mouth twitched. He knew Gran was about to blow up Earth as a demonstration.

So he hurriedly tapped his staff, and the force he had been using to protect Earth instantly vanished.

The next second—

Gran's power burrowed into the ground.

Boom—!

Earth instantly exploded, a dazzling fireworks display blooming in the pitch-black universe.

Goku, Chi-Chi, and Bulma were safely protected by Whis, unaffected by Earth's destruction.
