Background

Whis serves Universe 7's God of Destruction, Beerus, while residing in the God of Destruction Realm. Although he normally ignores distant calls, Gran's offer of “the most delicious food in the entire universe” immediately draws his attention and brings him to the dying Saiyan child. Whis initially refuses to interfere because Angels must remain neutral, but Gran's sudden dimensional breakthrough compels him to heal Gran with his staff. 2 3

After bringing Gran to the God of Destruction Realm, Whis accepts his request for training in exchange for meals. He begins by forcing Gran to master his unstable power, then plans a gradual curriculum covering state of mind, Dimension, rules, and Ultra Instinct. 5 6 7
