The aliens nearby were horrified. King Frieza was actually bowing to this guy.

Had he gone mad? King Frieza was the Emperor of the Universe!

"This must be Lord Gran, correct?" Frieza asked as he bowed to Gran.

More than twenty years ago, Beerus had visited his palace and warned him not to make another move against the Saiyan Clan.

At the time, Frieza had wondered why Beerus would do such a thing. It was only a year and a half ago, when Vegeta led Raditz and the others in an invasion of his headquarters, that he learned the truth.

Beerus had taken in a Saiyan as a Candidate God of Destruction, which was why he had done that!

Now that he saw attire like Beerus's again, Frieza naturally guessed the newcomer's identity.

Luckily... luckily, he had not offended him from the very beginning!

"So you did know of my existence." Gran walked past Frieza and sat down on the throne in the palace.

Seeing this young Saiyan sitting on his throne, Frieza narrowed his eyes.

When facing this Candidate God of Destruction, he was not as flustered as he had been when facing Beerus.

He knew that this Candidate God of Destruction was merely a Saiyan.

"Lord Candidate God of Destruction, yes. I learned of your existence from Vegeta back then," Frieza said politely.

He had used "you" rather than a more respectful form of address. Gran found that rather interesting.

In the anime, Frieza had always been this kind of person. He feared Deities such as Gods of Destruction, but if he believed someone was beneath him, he looked down on everyone.

"What's with that tone? It sounds like you don't think much of me."

Gran teased, "Is it because I'm a Saiyan?"

"I wouldn't dare."
