That a top predator was hiding in this dark underground cave.

Li Dan tossed Holly aside and silently took out his gun, chambering a round.

They couldn't see it clearly, but Li Dan could see a Wendigo moving above them.

He finally got a clear look at the monster's appearance.

In the darkness, the Wendigo writhed like a hunched, skeletal tower. Cracked, grayish-blue skin clung to its protruding bones. Its eyes bulged out, pupils shrunk to pinpricks, fixed on the group. A white mist mixed with the stench of rotting flesh puffed from its shrunken nostrils. Its rotten lips curled back, revealing sharp teeth like shards of ice, each tip coated in dark brown mucus...

Its appearance was comparable to a Deformed Person.

Rebecca noticed Li Dan's actions and asked softly.

"Did you find something?"

Li Dan raised his infrared sight and aimed it at the rock wall above. Juno and the others followed his gaze and happened to see the Wendigo stealthily moving. Its terrifying face and grayish-black skin were enough to make one's scalp tingle just looking at it.

Rebecca screamed.

"Bang! Bang!"

Li Dan fired. Both shots hit the Wendigo's back, causing it to immediately fall from the wall. It let out a strange cry from its fangs and crawled back into the darkness.

It moved so fast that Li Dan didn't even have time to take a follow-up shot.

"Stop screaming. Do you want to attract other monsters?"

Li Dan was furious at this group of useless teammates. They couldn't even reload properly, and now they were screaming wildly. In this situation, it was hard not to die.

"I don't have a gun," Rebecca said, feeling wronged.

"What should we do, Li Dan?" Sam was the student with the weakest psychological resilience. She had already started crying when she saw the Wendigo. If it weren't for Li Dan, she would have been completely panicked and running around in fear.

Beth's panicked expression wasn't much better.

Holly was probably the most scared; her leg was already injured. If that monster from before came back, she'd be the first target.

Li Dan quickly pulled a gun from his backpack. Juno took it without refusal and said quickly, "We need to leave here. This might be their nest."

Li Dan shook his head. He looked towards a dark area ahead where several Wendigos were approaching at extreme speed.

"It's too late, they're already here. There's more than one, right in front!"

"Ah!"

Screams, gunshots, and strange howls mixed together.

The Wendigos' target was clear: the immobile Holly.

Sarah, whose mind was unstable, her pupils dilated. She fired a few shots randomly and ran immediately.

Li Dan's gun never stopped. Juno and Holly were at the forefront, while Beth and Li Dan stood together, firing.

But Sam, the youngest, had never seen such a terrifying scene. Seeing the dense swarm of monsters, she didn't even have the courage to shoot and ran into the dark cave behind them.

Rebecca, unarmed, could only chase after Sam.

Four handguns fired non-stop. The number of Wendigos was beyond imagination; they broke through the defense line in an instant.

Holly was immediately pounced on, letting out a piercing scream. A Wendigo bit down on Holly's throat, and her voice quickly subsided. More and more Wendigos gathered over her corpse, tearing and feasting.

Juno and Beth completely broke down upon seeing this.

But other monsters were surging towards them.

Juno, not paying attention, was pounced on, struggling with her hands and feet.

"Beth, help me!"

Seeing this, Beth looked at Li Dan, tears streaming down her face, and said, "What should we do?"

"Teacher Beth, you should run first." Li Dan had long known these teammates were unreliable. He took out two M76 grenades, gently pulled the pins, and threw them towards Holly's corpse.

Li Dan didn't leave; he just hid in a corner. With two violent explosions, the entire cave rumbled, and debris constantly fell from above, looking like it was about to collapse at any moment, but it ultimately didn't.

Li Dan summoned the Deformed Person and the Ogre Boss to guard him. Two small cards appeared in his hand, ready for containment. If bullets couldn't kill them, he didn't believe grenades wouldn't work.

When the scene quieted down.

Li Dan cautiously peeked out, scanned the surroundings, and looked as if he had seen a ghost, then chose to silently shrink back.
